Making A Last Will and Testament, What About If You Produce A Video Will?

Updated on August 31, 2011

A Video Will is a Lovely Addition to the Last Will and Testament

This article is about the reasonably new concept of video wills. This is one of the series of hubs on issues surround death. If you would like to read these, please click on the following links.

Now we have covered the issues on funerals, wills, living wills, probate and Intestacy, in this series of articles on death and taxes. Have you thought of a video will?

‘Remember a Charity’ is an organisation that has been set up to encourage people to gift to charity in people’s will. They did some research and found that 63% of the UK population would be interested in creating a video will as a way of explaining their formal last will and testament.

These video wills are something that are not recommended to stand alone but are great to enhance the Last Will and Testament. Some companies specialise in the whole package.

The following video is an example that wouldn't count should the death of this man go to intestate. The problem with this video will is that no one can be sure that he hasn't got a gun threatening him out of view-shot. Take a look!

A Video Will Can Bring A Message From The Grave

It is thought that a video will would be a lovely keep sake for loved ones to treasure after the death of a person they have cherished – it is like a memorial. It would also give the deceased a voice after they have died to explain the thoughts behind the formal will. There might be messages of love, hope and advice. It gives the beneficiaries an opportunity of seeing and hearing you stating your last wishes. This could be a treasure message for them from the grave.

Video wills are becoming more and more popular these days and is worthwhile considering by giving a personal touch to the celebration of the life of the deceased. This is particularly lovely in a time when your loved ones are at a great time of distress and can be comforting. It can also help avoid disputes, giving hope from beyond the grave.

Video Wills - A Complete Package

Some people are now using video wills to give their children advice for the future. This last message hopes to give worldly advice that will live with them as they go through life. This really is a lovely detail.

There are some Companies that specialise in video wills as an addition. The following is an example of someone that has gone through this process.

I'm not even 30, but from time to time I think that I should sort out my stuff. You never know what happens. I really like the idea of a video last will and did some research on it and found this. Seems as if this really is the future, when they are already developing apps for it.

It is never the writing of hubs that are a problem... its the SEO and backlinking stuff that takes the time!

Wow... thanks Sage! It is a very good idea and could be everything to all our loved ones, once we have gone. Hopefully, not for a long time for both of us eh?

      Thanks for reading x

I've never heard of a video will, but now it totally makes sense. Whenever my time comes, I think I'm going to make one because I feel it will be a lot more personal to my loved ones.

I see you're taking the 30 day challenge, that's awesome! I've considered doing a Hub challenge, but don't really know if my schedule would allow for it, ya know? I really want to though.
