Morals Teach Individuals the Best Lessons

One can become addicted, depressed, or suffer from anxiety. This actually makes the individual afraid of making mistakes, and facing disappointments.

Looking ahead in life makes you feel good about yourself.

When you don't see yourself as important a positive outlook in life will be most difficult.

Life is not a bed of roses what you make of life is what you get.

  • What Is Vulnerability?

Consider this; vulnerability is not weakness as you would think, but rather encouragement. You feel the quality of strength when it comes to vulnerability.

When something went wrong you would want to fix the problem.

First you see what the problem is, and then find the solution.

Believe in what you do and you will succeed.

Whatever you accomplish is nurtured by parents and by your cultural differences.

You got to be good for yourself and not for others.

You will never be good enough for anyone else but yourself.

When search for approval look for that from your parents or someone you are close to.

To those who would give you the honest answer.

Don't open a shop unless you know how to smile

One does not give a gift without a motive

A fair request should be followed by the deed in silence.

He that does not ask will never get a bargain.

Far more and far more hideous, crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion.

Obedience to the law is demanded as a right not asked as a favor.

In schools all over the world little boys learn that their country is the greatest in the world, and the highest honor that could befall them would be to defend it heroically someday.

The fact that empathy has traditionally been conditioned out of boys facilitates their obedience to leaders who order them to kill strangers.

Obedience Bane of all, genius, virtue, freedom, truth, makes slaves of men, and of the human frame, a mechanized automaton.

The doctrine of blind obedience and unqualified submission to any human power, whether civil or ecclesiastical, is the doctrine of despotism.

Obedience is the mother of success and the wife of security.

I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.

It is a medicine for the sound health of government.

Disobedience when it is not criminally but morally, religiously, or politically motivated is always a collective act and it is justified by the values of the collectivist and the mutual engagements of its members.

One who breaks an unjust low that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the consciousness of the community over its injustice.

That is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law.

  • Don't confuse dissent with disloyalty.

Dare to think the unthinkable, thoughts. Learn to explore all the opinions and possibilities that confront us in a complex and rapidly changing world.

Individuals must learn to welcome and not to fear the voices of dissent.

You must dare to think about unthinkable things because when things become unthinkable thinking stops and action becomes mindless.

Three stinking cobblers with their wits combined can equal the wisest philosopher.

I am the people the mob, the crowd the mass. Do you know that all the great work of the world is done through me?

I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member.

When spiders unite they can tie down a lion

Two heads are better than one.

I am a leader by default, only because nature does not allow a vacuum.

Without a shepherd sheep are not a flock.

The charismatic leader gains and maintains authority solely by proving his strength in life.

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

They are of leadership consists in consolidation the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention.

The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category.

There is no such thing as a perfect leader either in the past or present, China or elsewhere. If there is one, he is only pretending.

Like a pig inserting scallions into its nose in an effort to look like an elephant.

He who acts with a constant view to his own advantage will be much murmured against.

We are all members of one another.

  • Who sees me in all?

And sees all in me,

For him I am not lost,

And he is not lost for me

It is our task, in our time, and in our generation to hand down undiminished to those who come after us, as was handed down to us by those who went before, the natural wealth and beauty which is ours.

I'll do my thing and you do yours

If two people find each other

Its wonderful

If not it can't be helped.

Common danger makes common friends.

Beauty is power.

No woman can be too slim.

Besides being young a desirable sex partner especially a woman should also be fat.

Beauty is power.

The pursuit of beauty is much more dangerous nonsense than the pursuit of truth or goodness, because it affords a stronger temptation to the ego.

To like and dislike the same things that is indeed true friendship.

Live with wolves, howl like a wolf.

Balanced relationships: ''My enemy's enemy is my friend.''

Don't try to make someone hate the person he loves, for he will go on loving them but he will hate you.

The only way to have a friend is be one.

  • To whom can I speak today?

I am heavy-laden with trouble through lack of an intimate friend.

I feel so lonesome I most wished I was dead.

I see loneliness ooze damply from people's bodies, trail after them, trickling, widening, running deep, flowing and on forever.

Sitting down to one plate the loneliest of positions.

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive and it is only by the meeting that a new world is born,

A friend is as it were, a second self.

If I have no love I am nothing, Love is patient, love is kind, and envies no one.

Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude, never selfish, not quick to take offense. Love keeps no score of wrongs, does not gloat over another man's sins, but delights in the truth... love will never come to an end.

We are molded and remolded by those who have loved us, and though the love may pass we are nevertheless their work, for good or ill.

Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject of ourselves or we know where we can find information about it.

  • What is love?

Ask him who lives, what is life.

Ask him who adores, what is God (love) is that we conceive, or fear, or hope beyond ourselves, when we find within our own thoughts the chasm of an insufficient void, and seek to awaken in all things that are, a community with what we experience within ourselves.

Fondness is a poor substitute for friendship

He who has nothing has no friends.

Friendship is love without wings.

I believe myself that romantic love is the source of the most intense delight that life has to offer.

It is so easy to fall in love.

For years chasing a girl and then realizing your tastes are the same and were just crazy girls.

Love is a kind of warfare

Whoever indulges in love without sense or moderation recklessly endangers his life, such is the nature of love that no one involved with it can keep his head.

  • Marriage is a noose!

Love is like a virus it can happen to anyone at any time

There is one kind of happiness in life to love and be loved.

Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love.

I know I am but summer to your heart, and not the full four seasons of the year.

To love someone who doesn't love you is like shaking a tree to make the dewdrops fall.

When love is not, there can be no pleasures.

  • When love is not madness it is not love

When you are beside me my heart sings, a branch it is, dancing, dancing before the Wind Spirit in the moon of strawberries. When you frown upon me, beloved, my heart grows dark; the shadow of clouds darkens then with your smile comes the sun.

You don't believe in true love and rheumatism until after the first attack.

  • Will he always love me?

I can't read his heart. This morning my thoughts are as disordered as my black hair.

I am your clay

You are my clay.

In life we share a single quilt,

In death we will share our coffin.

To be in love is merely to be in a state of perpetual anesthesia, to mistake an ordinary young woman for a goddess.

Rank creates its rules, a woman is asked about her husband, a man is asked about his rank.

Marriage to woman as to men must be a luxury, not a necessity, an incident of life, not all of it. And the only possible way to accomplish this great change is to accord to women, equal power in the making shaping and controlling of the circumstances of life.

You are inventing all sorts of feelings for me such as I have never really had at all, and then getting cross with me for having them. That is not a very amiable proceeding is it?

Love doesn't just sit there like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; re-made all the time, made new.

The wish to hurt, the momentary intoxication with pain is the loophole through which the pervert climbs into the minds of ordinary men.

You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.

Anger is short madness.

War nourishes war.

I have enjoyed all the pleasures that revenge can give.

No tears now I will think about revenge.

No man can think clearly when his fists are clenched.

When anger rises, think of the consequences.

Anger blows out the lamp of the mind.

Man only becomes dangerous when he is equipped with weapons.

O thou invisible spirit wine,

If thou host no name to be known by.

Let us call thee devil.

O God, that men should put an enemy.

In their mouths to steal away their brains!

That we should, with joy, pleasure, revel, and applause, transform into beasts!

Drunkenness is the highway to hell.

DDE, you have some good points in there. There's a new one I've never heard: "Obedience is the mother of success and the wife of security." I have to give this one some consideration. Thanks!

Hello DDE, How are you there in your beautiful country? I enjoyed the first part of this and must come back for the rest as I'm off to my new adventure -- work. But the first part reminds me of an important quote or truth I read a month ago by someone named C. Kay Allan. The quote was posted in a nursery for toddlers which was a strange place to come across it, but I'm glad I did because I feel it is true. Part of the quote said, "It is a hard fact......" and then not verbatim....that we overcome low self-esteem by learning to solve difficult problems, step by step. And as we solve difficult problems we grow in self-esteem. This cannot occur by someone merely encouraging us or having sympathy for us. (End of the gist of it.) I love that idea or restating of truth because there are so many children in the world that have very bad childhoods -- in many countries including Canada and the U.S. There is hope where there is will (and faith in God).

      Voting up.

such truth in your words. Believe in yourself and your capabilities and you will succeed. So many people depend on others for validation when it should come from within. These are some good principles.

Thank you for this reflection. From my experience morality is not black and white. I once successfully defended a guilty man.

      Hi DDE,

Thank you for these lovely thoughts on morals, which there seems to be so less of nowadays. I believe it all goes back to the condition of one's heart.

      Excellent!

There is a lot of truths in all those thoughts. The sad thing is it's not taught anymore in schools! Kids could learn a lot from that... and start to think!

Well there are morals to be learnt everyday and one is to never to repeat your past mistakes. But I always learn from you my friend - and you always put my head into gear and allow me to think and feel and debate and that's what great writers do.

Will post and link on FB for all to see and read and sending you my heartfelt warm wishes from Colin and his cats
