Mudras and Mantras of Happiness and Love
Have you tried practising mudras?
Gestures and words that work wonders
Have you heard of the book by Sabrina Mesko, a former ballet dancer, Broadway artist and a model who turned to yoga to cure a back injury? In her book “Healing Mudras” she describes hand yoga - mudras - that are positions of hands and fingers that can not only heal our illnesses but also attract happiness, love and many other positive things to our lives.
Apparently, mudras that are used together with mantras can work wonders!
Mudras are the art of folding fingers.
Body language is the part of any culture. Different gestures were used in Egypt, India, Rome, Greece and Persia, China, India and Turkey, as well as some tribes in Africa, Australia and Maya.
In India gestures are called by a Sanskrit word “mudra”. They are also present in ancient Indian dances and are called “hastas”.They are the part of yoga practise and they help a human to get in touch with the divine and cosmic energy. The art of mudras has a divine nature. It helps us get the hold of the invisible link with the Universe, develop greater skills, get the hold of a spiritual wholeness and inner force.
Mudras are a great instrument that can help attract your dream, bring love to your life, calm down the consciousness, teach you how to deal with fears and wrath, how to fight the fatigue and how to manage other disorders.
Mantras are ancient Sanskrit words that have a healing impact on everything. They can be repeated or sung while you are doing mudras, during meditation, or in any comfortable place and suitable time.
According to what Sabrina Mesko has learned in India, the roof of our mouth has 58 energy points that are connected in a reflex way with other body organs. By stimulating these points, you can actually boost your physical and intellectual activity. Certain sounds have special healing properties. When you repeat out loud or just whisper these ancient mantras, the invisible lines that cross the roof of the mouth, receive this specific impulse, that change the energy field of the whole body.
During the exercise, it is important not to feel any strain or pain. You can do mudras at any time of the day. If you practise mudras in order to get enlightened or to meditate, you’d better do this in the morning or in the evening, because doing this right after or just before sleeping improves concentration.
It is not recommended to do mudras and say mantras after meals when the united energy of the body and spirit are concentrated in the stomach area. It is advisable to practise each mudra during at least 3 minutes two times a day. But with time, as you learn to recreate every gesture and its awaken energy, it is advisable to make it 11 and 31 minutes.
While doing mudras, it is important to draw the attention to the third eye area or to the top of the head area. Here is where we are linked to the cosmic energies.
Mudra of happiness
It infleunces the general state of mind and helps achieve a carefree state and a complete felicity.
Bend your ring and baby fingers on both hands and press them gently but firmly with your big fingers. The index finger and the middle finger are kept straight. The spine is straight, the elbows are are lifted slightly and slightly put aside.

This mudra activates the energy that creates the feeling of love for yourself, your parents, children, friends, near and dear, for Him or Her, for the sun, the moon, all the living things and the universe. If you practise this mudra for a longer time, you will definitely meet your beloved! You will radiate love energy and according to the law of attraction, you will get attracted to Him or Her! You need to remember this, try this and trust yourself and the universe.
Bend the middle and ring fingers of your both hands and press them to your palms. Your big, index and baby fingers are straight up. Raise your elbows, concentrate and keep the posture during several minutes. Visualize that you bathe in the ocean of light and love. Say this mantra twice: SAT NAM UAHEI GURU.
Mudra attracting success
This mudra activates the desire to take actions, to sooner fulfil your dream. During the practise of this mudra imagine that you have already achieved your aim. Imagine you are an oil baron, or an owner of a prestigious hotel. If you accompany this mudra with the mantra HAR HAR, you will soon notice that the energy of success goes your way!
Put the index fingers of your both hands together so that the big fingers are hidden and the palms are directed downwards. For a second, firmly press the index fingers together. Now turn your hands upwards. Now your baby fingers are close together. Again turn your hands so that the index fingers are close together. At the moment when you change your hands position, you must say HAR HAR.
Mudra raising sexual energy
This mudra keeps the sexual energy in balance and reinforces it because it cleanses and recreates the organs of reproduction. Use it together with your beloved, then Casanova himself could envy your deep sexual life!
The first gesture, when the right big finger covers the left one, reinforces sexuality, the second one, when the left big finger covers the right one, fills you up with sensuality and tenderness.
Mudra for obtaining self-confidence
Everyday use of this mudra will change your inner self. You will become so much self-confident and optimistic, that you will be able to inspire your friends. Use this mudra before a business meeting or before taking important decisions.
This mudra corrects the energy of the perceiving centers of the brain and generates positive energy, removes thoughts and actions that can harm you.
Mantras for this mudra are:
EK ONG KAR SAT GURU PRASAD
SAT GURU PRASAD EK ONG KAR
Your hands are below your heart area, and the elbows are bent and put aside. The bent middle, ring and baby fingers are united by the middle falanges. The index fingers are straight forward and their distal phalanxes are put together. Big fingers are also put together and their distal phalanxes touch each other. Big fingers touch the solar plexus.
Now you can start practising these mudras and if you feel the energies that start changing, I can congratulate you. Don’t get desperate though if the technique seems difficult at the first try. You have never manipulated your fingers in such a way! If you train them every day, you will soon succeed!
