Preschool New Year's Lesson Plan
Circle Time - Storytime, Music
Read P. Bear's New Year's Eve Party: A Counting Book by Paul Owens. On the title page of this delightful counting and telling time book, an invitation to the party! The exotic animals begin arriving at one o'clock, and the countdown begins. Share a pre made paper plate clock with paper numbers, and a paper fastener to hold the hands of the clock. Set the clock at midnight. Sing CeCe's "Welcome New Year."
"Welcome New Year" (sung to Frere Jacques)
New Year. New Year.
Clock strikes twelve. Clock strikes twelve.
Bringing in the New Year, bringing in the New Year.
