Over population ;the causes and effects

The current situation

According to a Harvard study,t he next forty years will see an increase(48%) in the population of the less developed regions like Subsaharan Africa and Southern Asia.

Many countries of the world are already suffering ;Nigeria,Uganda and Bangladesh are to name a few.

There is an ever increasing demand for food,electricity,water and shelter which needs to be considered careful in order to make use of this manpower.

The hunger games

The causes

  • Increase in birth rate
  • Drop in death rate due to better health facilities
  • Polygamy
  • Lack of family planning
  • Increasing dependency problems
  • Ignorance and illiteracy

The effects

  • Increase in pollution
  • Depletion of resources
  • Decrease in quality of life
  • Unequal distribution of resources

Is there a solution?

Yes! There definitely is.The most applicable solution is to create awareness of the effects and causes of overpopulation.

      You are right. We think nothing about turning the tap for free running water. Americans must start doing our part. We are a spoiled nation. I sponsor six children in Liberia through my church. Thank you for writing this and reminding me it is the little people's problem as well as the leaders.

      You and I,we are the ones who can make a difference.

      We can start by stopping the wastage of food and water in our homes keeping in mind that many others are dying due to starvation or thirst.

      This is a real problem for the whole world, especially the underdeveloped countries. It is up to the leaders to take action. Too many times the leaders live in luxury while the people starve. Thank you for drawing our attention to this problem..
