Personal Experiences: Poems and Songs of My Life
I make poems and songs to inspire others and share my different kinds of emotions to people who can read it and who can hear me sing.
Man is a social being. Our ability to sing and talk were used by our forefathers long ago to convey messages that inspired them to build a nation, conquer continents and leave legacies that we still read and sing from the pages of our world history and the compilation of books called the Holy Bible that were spoken through God's apostles to know the destiny of mankind.
Every individual is given the ability to construct simple poems into complicated narrative stories of adventures that we still enjoy today, especially the literature of Great empires that continue to inspire us to celebrate life by compiling personal poems and songs that are waiting to be read by others.
I was exposed to reciting poems at a young age of seven when I was assigned by my teacher to memorize and recite "The Birds and The Trees" during the commencement exercises. I am greatly inspired by our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal as he constructed his first of many memorable poems, "To The Filipino Youth" revealing his love for his country and appeal to the youth to contribute positive deeds to their country.
During first year high school, my English teacher fired the most memorable poem, "Invictus" [a short Victorian poem by the English poet William Ernest Henley (1849–1903)] which stirred the very core of my emotion to believe in myself. That I have talents that are waiting to be cultivated.
That was the start of my never-ending passion to write poems and songs. I even won local accolades with my songs and poems that were published during high school and college days.
I make poetry then put chords on it. Simple as it may seem, but poems I've written in local dialects (Tagalog and Bikol) earned raves in the local scene.
I didn't entered my English poems-turned into songs in major contests. I didn't have the guts to make it on national contests. At least, I am sharing some poems whom I turned into songs (videos not included yet).
I also included one of a karaoke version of the more popular songs we used to sing on board ship. It's titled "Mexican Girl" by Smokie which was also became my favorite because of "Jake" (our senior cook, my partner-in-crime in the galley).
When you are in love
you'll do anything
to let it last
for a long, long time
It's because you can feel
it only once
it must linger
for a lifetime
When you meet your love
show her/him that you care
Never lose her/him
nor forget her/him.
'cause true love
comes but only once
it may be early
or may be last
True love never ends
for as long as your believe
No matter how difficult
your searched for it.
No matter how far the distance
Your heart should
never loose hope
No matter how long you've waited
For as long as your believe
in the promise of love.
Don't Look, It Won't Hurt
I'm sorry for what we've been through
I know you feel the same way, too.
But's let's face the truth,
it must end like this
to stop the hurting that we feel inside.
Little trust did ruin our lives;
The love we've shared was thrown into trash.
Regaining it will take a time
I just don't know,
I guess it will be long.
Forgiveness is out of sight
We stopped seeing eye to eye
Evading to see the truth behind
the guilt is what
we felt inside.
who's to blame and be punished
for what happened in our lives?
It hurts so much
to end our love like this,
Please don't look and it won't hurt
So, this means goodbye
No looking back to relive the past
I'll just treasure those memories
that made us laugh and cry.
All about Personal Experiences
Through Thick and Thin
What is like to have friends
whom you can share your feelings,
Through the good and bad times
helping to ease you mind?
But, among those friends you chose one
who can really keep your secrets;
and truly stays with you
when you're down and feeling blue.
Some friends will just stay
when you have something to give,
when they can share your happiness
but quickly vanish when you failed.
But, there's one who'll keep you company
when the test of time knocks on your door
He/She will never leave, he'll/she'll comfort you
just when you needed him/her the most.
He/She always has the ears to listen
with some thoughts to share with you
always urging you to fight
in order to survive.
Even though he's/she's not with you forever
for he/she had other things to do
And you know that in your heart
he/she will always there for you.
True friend is rare you know
You'll have a hard time finding another
through thick and thin he will stay
and let you know that everything's okay.
