What Can You Build With Pole Barn Plans – What Can’t You!

For some reason if you ask most people what they think a pole barn is, they will talk vaguely about some rickety, draughty old farm building. Nothing could be further from the truth. You can build pretty much anything using a pole barn footprint.

The key to success is to have a portfolio of good pole barn plans. You can purchase these online for under $50 and they will pay for themselves over and over again. The choice of designs is mind-blowing. I myself have built a large stable for our broodmare to deliver her first foal and as well as all of the traditional type builds, sheds, barns and stables you can be a lot more creative.

I recently decided that I needed another greenhouse on the smallholding that we live on and I used pole barn technology to build it. It was a very cost efficient exercise as I got some old UPVC conservatory sides from a local dealer for free – he would have had to pay to dispose of them.

I merely secured my corner posts into the ground and securely screwed the conservatory panels to the posts. I next build up the sides underneath the panels (they were half size, having originally had a brick base under them. This was a quick job too, as I used some old galvanised corrugated iron sheets I had. I then attached the door panel and then put some more timber around the to of the structure to enable me to attach the roof.

Unfortunately, not all of the glass was intact so I bought a large UPVC transparent profile panel and cut this to size with a hand saw and fixed the panels into place.

The whole build was completed in one day because of careful planning. I adopted a set of pole barn plans that I had and carefully checked off all of the materials and tools and fixings that I was going to need to complete the job without having to break off the job.

I have always found pole barn plans to be of great assistance in this aspect, especially if you have not erected a pole barn structure before.

Pole barns are fantastic because they go up quick and you can pretty much design anything you want.
