Adele - Hello

Introduction.

Worked example booklets and quality text books help in revision for an exam. Those to somewhat accurately predict the impending mode of exam are at an advantage. Before and during the exam ensure you have the relevant material with you. Biro, calculator, geometrical sets and all. Study consistently for the impending exam so as to avoid last minute intense revision. Don’t attempt to cover a year’s syllabi in a matter of days. You will not be able to memorialize what you read if you pump in too much material in so short a time. Make sure that you will have completed the syllabi before the exam is due. The knowledge that you have not completed the syllabi will most likely affect your confidence. During the course of the exam read the question thoroughly so as to understand it before attempting it. Having revised old exam papers of the exam, you will have known how to time yourself. You will also have made yourself familiar with the rules and regulations of the exam board concerning your exam.

Revision material.

Availability of easy to learn revision material comes in handy in the course of your exam preparation. In the case of theoretical papers it is recommended that you go through the set text book at least three times. In the first reading you will find it takes a while since you are new with the material. However in the course of reading through the second time you find that you move faster as you are now somewhat familiar with it. The third reading is quite enjoyable because you will just find yourself skimming through the text as you are now a semi-expert of the same. For such a mode of study to bear larger fruits the text book you are dealing with must be quality, otherwise you will just be wasting your time on irrelevant stuff.

Pick a pen and paper in course of revision.

Points stick in your brain better if you tend to jot them down on a rough paper as you revise. Merely reading like a math book would serve very little purpose. Try out the examples on your own and compare your workings with the solutions to the problem. You will realize you are somewhat an expert when you start pointing out mistakes from the worked examples or can even come up with better and easier formula to tackle the same problem. Today you can find revision material from the internet. Some are free while in some other cases you might be required to cough some small nominal fee. Of course the free stuff is suspect because nobody will guarantee you of their quality, completeness or even accuracy. It is therefore advisable to go for the paid option. You might even do a quick internet search in the course of your revision. This tends to make your revision experience easier, more effective and enjoyable. Discussion forums with your peers on the net are very valuable especially when no physical being seems to have a clue to the answer of your problem. Your cybernetic friends, some of whom might even be university professors who join the discussion as informed persons, will be of immense help. They might be interested in refreshing their mind on the subject, thus their interest.

Watch your private life during the course of the exam.

It is common for students to organize leavers' bash at the closer of a course. This should preferably be slotted in for a time and period after the end of the exam: Not squeezed in between the exam period. This might not suit all exams taken in a large institution however. Some students will have done with theirs even as others have not started theirs. Such are instances you have to be careful with invites to the same. It is important that you make yourself available to the exam room on the appointed time. One thing to reduce chances of missing out is by not indulging too much in the course of the exam period. If possible sleep early so as to wake fresh and ready for the tough day ahead during the exam period, all the while ensuring that you find time to eat well so as to maintain your good health. Oh, don’t forget to pray. God is faithful and can perform miracles of magnitudes you cannot fathom.

Good preparation for material and physical location.

If the exam is to be taken in a new joint to you, it will serve you a lot of good if you would scout the venue beforehand. Don’t leave this duty to the morning of the actual exam. If you do that, there are chances you might find some problems locating it, in the process missing out on the exam or reporting late for it. Any event making you panicky will affect your power to think rationally in the course of the exam, reducing your chances of doing well. Your pens, calculators and stuff like pocket money should be checked in good time. Also at all times; during the exam period make a point of consulting your exam timetable. It would be unfortunate if you would get mixed up and miss out on an exam due to your negligence. The exam time-table is also invaluable in allowing for a very structured revision plan commensurate to the papers schedule.
