Practical Assignment 1

This hub is the practical assignment part of my PTLLS course. This hub has the Scheme of work that I prepared for my micro-teaching session. My subject area is Physics and hence I chose a topic from Physics for my teaching session. I was asked to prepare a scheme of work for a minimum of 6 sessions.

I agreed with my tutor to include the topic "Study of atoms, molecules and compounds" in my Scheme of work. I planned it for a total of 3 hours, with 15 minutes inclusive for assessment.

The scheme of work is in a table format. So I have scanned my original copy, and redacted any confidential information from the copies for confidentiality purposes.

Produce a learning PROGRAMME / Scheme of work in your subject area, for a minimum of six sessions

(the length of each session is to be agreed between yourself and your tutor)

The page above shows the overall Aims of the course. There are a total of six aims, one for each of the six sessions. Each session will have an assessment at the end.

As you can see above, each session has "Objectives" and "Learning outcomes". For each session, I have mentioned the resources i will be using, the teaching activities that will take place, the learning activities that will take place and what type of assessments can be expected / given

Session 2 was my micro-teaching session, and you can follow the links below to see how it relates to my micro teaching.

Objectives, Learning outcomes, Diagrams, Periodic table, resources, learning activities, assessments

I hope you would have got an outline or an idea of how your Scheme of work has to be and what would be expected of you, when you prepare for your micro-teaching session or for your normal teaching session itself.

P.S: On a kind note, please do not copy anything submitted here and display them in your file. This has been published here, purely to help you gain an idea / understanding of what they expect you to write and how you have to write. You will have to relate to your own subject area, experience in your classroom and lectures while preparing the files. Thank you for your co-operation.

Great information, I have written so many syllabus and course curricula I could scream. I really could have used the micro-teaching scenario. Thanks for the info and voted up!
