Updated on December 20, 2014

Photographs from the personal collection of my Grandfather, Lieutenant Joseph L. Guerin, during his service aboard RFA Brown Ranger in the Pacific and South China Sea in 1945-46. There is a companion page which focuses on Hong Kong city, Kowloon, and some of the surrounding sights.

Many thanks to both of you for your kind comments; I made a brief stay with my Grandfather overnight and he showed me an album full of photographs which I had never seen, so I thought it would be a nice idea to make a page out of them and share them a bit more widely.

I grew up in the WWII period andmany relatives and family friends were in the Navy. This includes my brother, my sisters boyfriends and later, her husband. My cousins were also navy people.
