STUDIES SEEMS TO BE BORING AND EXHAUSTING

‘Oh! I don’t want to do my homework’’,’’ I don’t want to study’’. Parents do hear these types of words from their children. The children don’t want to study because the studies seem to be boring for them. There are some serious reasons behind it.

Firstly, most of the teachers in the schools are very old especially the Urdu, Islamiat Sindhi and Arabic teachers. They didn’t have that excessive zeal and fervor to teach the students as they have attained an age and are only concerned with the money they would get for completing the course. Age differences matter a lot and an example from history will certainly help. Bahadur Shah Zafar, the son of Aurangzeb the great, failed to maintain the Mughal Empire together as he was very old when his father died and he was bestowed to the throne. This weakened the empire and was one of the few reasons behind its destruction.

Secondly, the teachers teach the students in a serious way. I mean that they put a lot of burden on the children which one can hardly bear. In Pakistan particularly, the students are loaded with heavy homework which keep them awake till midnight and cause disturbance in their health. Apart from this, their minds are not allowed to experiment things as they don’t get time to observe and analyze even their surroundings. Students want something new and interesting that can be an adventure for them but no pre-learned boring stuff.

When there is a problem, there is a solution. So the first thing the school management should do is to promote young generation. I myself as a student like young teachers as they are very interactive and know how to deal with us as they are also students. They are also mentally sound and often avoid tirade even when the misconduct is very serious. They arouse amiability in students rather than horrifying fear.

Few weeks back a young teacher came to teach us General Science. She had three children but looks more energetic and agile and was approximately 24 years old. Though she was a temporary substitute in place of our 59 year old PHD teacher as she was on leave, but she proved the fact that she deserved her place. Her information was vast and wasn’t just limited to the boundaries of the book. She used to give lectures in a way that everyone found interesting. Her lectures were terse and often were in a form of a story so that we can easily understand them. Whenever she asked me or any other student a question, we were always able to give an answer to her as we understood the concepts she explained.

This sums it up that young teachers who are prolific in their field should be promoted in the teaching field and their number should increase rapidly for the betterment of the society.

yeah! but how can one deal with them when what they are teaching is totally going over the head. Apart from this they don't read the psychology of the student treat them as they want.
