Sample End of the Year Letter from Teacher to Parents

Updated on February 15, 2016

Communication all throughout the year is vital between teachers and parents. I always like to send a letter home in June thanking them for their help and support. Here is a sample letter:

June 1, 2013

Dear Parents,

The end of the school year is approaching very quickly. The spring concert will be next Tuesday, June 4th at 6:30pm. The children are to dress in their Sunday best. Field Day will be on Friday, June 7th (team colors will be announced a few days before) and the Kindergarten moving up ceremony will be on Thursday, June 13th at 10:00am. Drop off will be at 9:30 in the classroom. This will be the last day of school and the children go home afterwards.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for a wonderful year. Your help and support have made these months together run very smoothly. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Abbot for being our class mothers and supplying the goodies for our parties.

The teachers have enjoyed delicious brunches, luncheons and generous gifts from the Home School Association. Thanks to all of you who are a part of that. Many thanks to all of you who have helped out in numerous class and school events.

I have enjoyed working with your children this year and am looking forward to seeing everyone again in September. I hope you all have an exciting, restful and enjoyable summer.

Karen Lynne
