Overview of Science and Technology Three Lessons:

Science and Technology III introduces science through science processes like observing, describing, comparing, classifying, measuring, and making inferences. This likewise commences some science laboratory tools. Hence, these processes and tools are sought and manipulated throughout the teaching-learning execution of the instruction. The lessons in this level are divided into four units.

Unit I is divided into two chapters: Chapter I – The Sense Organs; and Chapter 2- Growth and Development. In Chapter I, the parts of the different sense organs and their functions as well as the ways to care for them are discussed. Great physical and mental changes and factors that affect one’s growth and development are taken up in Chapter II.

Unit II present an in-depth discussion on animals and plants. The discussion on animals and plants focuses on their body parts and functions, characteristics, classification, basic needs, usefulness and harmfulness, and proper ways of caring them.

Units III and IV undertake the lessons on Matter, Energy, Force and Motion, as well as Earth and beyond. The discussions on matter and energy include a highly concrete presentation of the characteristics of matter, light and materials, sound and vibrating objects, and force and motion. The pondering of learned knowledge in Unit IV concludes with information on earth’s place in space. Facts about the sun, moon, and star are supplemented by experiments, reports, and projects which take the pupils beyond the materials presented in the chapters included in the unit.

Three Domains of Learning

Learning objectives are classified into three domains.

This sample set of learning objectives could be subjected to revision depending on the school’s curriculum or recommended lessons for Science and Technology for grade three.
