Shungite

This article, Shungite, Natural Protection From Electromagnetic Waves was written as a way of sharing the amazing results it has had on my body in the short time it has become part of my life, I'm sold. While I realize it is not a cure all, the difference it has made in my life is nothing short of miraculous . . . I am literally stunned by the results!

Shungite was formed from living organisms at the beginning of the Proterozoic eon 2.2-2 billion years ago. It is named after a Karelian village in Russia (Shun'ga), where the mineral was first discovered. It's pronunciation rhymes with the word kite. There are three types of Shungite, that are based on their composition, which have different appearances.

  1. Type I Shungite (Silver Shungite) is 98% organic carbon, with a semi metallic, silvery shine. It is the rarest form of Shungite and accounts for only 1% of all Shungite found and sold.
  2. Type II Shungite (Black Shungite) is black and can be easily formed and shaped. It can also be polished to produce a brilliant shine. It contains 50 to 70 percent organic carbon.
  3. Type III Shungite (Gray Shungite) has a dull gray appearance and contains around 30 to 50% organic carbon.

Shungites healing powers were known to our ancient ancestors as early as 9,000 BC but since it is only found in a remote part of Northwestern Russia on the border with Finland it really hasn't become well known until the last decade. We owe thanks to the research done by Regino Martino and Stephane Cardinaux into the bio-energetic properties of Shungite, to its reemergence into the mainstream New Age Community.

The results of several months of research by both these people (mentioned above) revealed that Shungite naturally protected humans from the affects electromagnetic waves, while providing positive effects for the human energetic system as a whole.

I became aware of Shungite when researching information pertaining to Cluster Headaches, which I consider the worst possible pain a human being can experience . . . of course I have never experienced child birth but if it is anything like cluster headaches, I feel for you ladies!

While I cannot definitely say that this necklace prevents cluster headaches, I have not had one since I began wearing it 10 days ago and I used to get them everyday.

History of Shungite

Shungite can be found in the Northwestern part of Russia near the Finland border called Karelia, near Lake Onega. It has been known for its healing powers for at least the last 11,000 years. Lake Onega is sacred to the native Sami shaman for its healing springs that come from Shungite deposits.

In 1714, the Church of Transfiguration was built on an island in Onega Lake, without one single piece of metal, including nails. Many convents and spas have been built in this area for hundreds of years so that Russian Royalty could benefit from the healing powers of the natural Shungite springs in the region. The first official documented visit by Russian royalty was made by Ivan the Terrible and his son Feodor I, the Grand Prince of Moscow, from 1533 to 1547, then the Tsar of Russia until his death in 1584.

In 1598, Feodor Romanov was removed from power and exiled, his wife Xenia was sent to a hermitage near Tolvuya, North of Lake Onega and he went to Poland, by the usurper Boris Godunov. Xenia was in poor health, exacerbated by the cold conditions but was soon miraculously revitalized by the healing powers of the local Shungite spring water. Because of this the spring she bathed in was named after her as the Spring of the Princess.

Over the next 100 years the miraculous healing powers of the local springs were largely ignored and forgotten about until in 1714, when a factory was established by the Tsar, Peter I, for the production of copper near Lake Onega. Because of the mining conditions of those workers that processed the copper ore, would cause them to get sick and fall seriously ill, they soon learned of the healing properties of the local Shungite springs that would "heal" their sickness in three days. This did not go unnoticed by the Tsar and he ordered an investigation. This investigation revealed that the Shungite springs would heal illnesses such as scurvy and liver problems very quickly, as well as many other disorders.

Peter I, had spas erected around the springs and built the Church of Apostle Peter in 1720. He and his family soon became regular visitors of these spas, having recognized the healing powers of those that bathed and drank the Shungite spring water. He was so impressed by Shungite, that he ordered every soldier in his army to carry a piece of Shungite in their packs to be used in their water flasks to cure dysentery, which was common illness that plagued European armies for centuries.

After Peter the Great's death, again the thermal Shungite spas closed down and were forgotten, until the early 1930s when new medical researchers found that the Shungite spring water contained high levels of ferrous oxide. However World War II halted plans to rebuild the spas and it wasn't until the 1960s that the medical establishment in Russia became once again interested. Because of the isolation of Russia and the Cold War, information on studies by Russian scientist to the healing powers of Shungite were slow to reach the Western world.

Also the censorship of information by large pharmaceutical companies in the 1970s further complicated the subject and prevented much of the Western world from recognizing the miraculous healing powers of this natural rock formed Billions of years ago. The first scientist to prove that the natural healing powers of Shungite was due to the presence of fullerenes was Grigory Andrievsky working at the Institute of Therapy at the Ukranian Academy of Medical Science. A research study based on the results of more than two decades of research was presented at a conference dedicated to Shungite in October of 2006, in Petrozavodsk.

Unformed Shungite

I use these unformed shungite rocks to purify my water. I generally just add a handful of these rocks to filtered tap water in a glass container and let them sit overnight. I can taste a difference, the water seems sweeter and clearer.

Shungite Research and Protection

Using a variety of procedures Professor Andrievsky was able to separate various aqueous solutions and create a base, which contained a significant concentration of fullerenes, that he called appropriately enough the Andrievsky Solution. However he soon realized, through experimentation, that fullerenes by themselves, didn't constitute a medical remedy. He concluded that natural fullerenes act on a systemic level and not as a treatment for a particular illness. Rather they act on the cellular level as antioxidants for months at a time.

Antioxidants are substances that for the most part inhibit the process of oxidation and peroxidation of free radicals. Under ordinary circumstances free radicals are relatively scarce in the human body and are offset by the ingestion of antioxidants in a balanced diet. Antioxidants can be found in vitamin C and vitamin E, betacarotene and certain enzymes contained in tannins. Either a deficiency of antioxidants or an excess of free radicals can result in the destruction of cells, which can lead to heart attacks, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

An increase in free radicals can happen when exposed to such harmful factors as radiation poisoning, which weakens the bodies systems and requires more antioxidants to restore it to health. A deficiency in antioxidants is also part of the aging process. Professor Andrievsky determined that natural fullerenes, found in Shungite, are among the most powerful antioxidants known to mankind and have the ability to reduce high concentrations of free radicals in the human body, by acting as a catalyzer.

What he and his team found was that natural fullerenes actually attract many free radicals to adhere to their soccer ball-like shape and then through a molecular transformation neutralize them. But they do not lose their molecular shape and continue to attract free radicals and neutralizing them, as opposed to other antioxidants that combine with free radicals to form a new harmless or neutralized molecule. This is important because they continue to work in the body for months, long after other antioxidants have been neutralized.

The Ukrainian Academy of Medical Sciences conducted experiments on volunteer patients suffering from a variety of diseases including cancer, which produced some amazing results. They found that by simply drinking water that had been purified with Shungite stones it would restore the blood of cancer patients that had undergone chemotherapy within a couple of weeks, as opposed to the control groups that hadn't drank Shungite treated water, which took 3 to 4 months.

Their are far too many applications for Shungite, as it relates to the treatment of diseases and illnesses to explore in this article however for an in depth description and list of ailments that it helps prevent you can find them in the book Shungite Protection, Healing and Detoxification by Regina Martino or go to this link on the website NAQWA Drinking Water Recovery.

Shungite Properties

What makes Shungite the miracle rock it is known for is the presence of fullerenes. These hexagon and pentagon shaped molecules, also known as bucky-balls (named after the noted architect Buckminster Fuller because of the domes he created using this shape), are incredibly durable and stable hollow molecular carbon cages.

They were first discovered in 1985 by Robert Curl and Richard Smalley. Together with Harold Kroto they synthesized these three-dimensional forms of carbon while trying to simulate the high-temperature, high-pressure conditions necessary for the formation of stars. Their discovery garnered the attention of the scientific community and lead to them winning the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1996. These molecules are thought to be connected with the generation of all life and have been found in meteorites in space.

Natural fullerenes found in Shungite greatly reduces the harmful effects electromagnetic energy has on the human body, from cell phones, computers and televisions, to name a few. The reason Shungite is used to purify water is that the natural fullerenes it is composed of attracts and neutralizes waterborne contaminants such as fluoride, chlorine, pharmaceuticals, bacteria, pesticides, heavy metals and nitrates.

The water from Lake Onega can be drank straight from the lake without filters due to the millions of years being fed from Shungite springs. Amazingly enough the locals use this water straight from Lake Onega to treat bug bites, burns and small cuts and abrasions, just like an antiseptic. Shungite is God's gift to Mother Nature for cleaning the environment of pollutants and works equally well on the human body.

The easiest way to use Shungite and introduce it to your body is either through drinking Shungite treated water or purchasing a Shungite necklace, bracelet or stone and keeping it on or near you. Be sure to get the Elite or Noble version, which would be Type II Shungite and put it in a glass container filled with filtered water. Allow it to stand for two days and then begin to drink it for best results.

Shungite Plant Experiement

Conclusions

I cannot say for certain that my Shungite necklace stopped my Cluster Headaches but based on the work by Dr. Nina Kolesnikova, in charge of a sanatorium near Moscow that specializes in cardiology, diabetes, hypertension and infectious diseases, it seems very likely that it was a major contributor.

Her work using Shungite to treat people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is not just groundbreaking but offers patients that suffer from this disease alternative treatments that produce amazing results.

Another amazing application for this miracle rock was discovered from its ability to neutralize electromagnetic waves from fault zone anomalies and machines that produce harmful electromagnetic low frequency (ELF) waves. Made into a plaster it can be used as a construction material to work as a Faraday Cage. Also it can be used as a decorative piece in hospitals to neutralize ELF waves.

I now have many Shungite pyramids and statues around my computer at work and at home, one near my large screen TV and you can even purchase them in a form that can be used with your phone to block any harmful radiation. Rooms constructed using Shungite materials and decorative pieces have been shown to have amazing results on traumatized patients suffering form a variety of mental disorders. I hope this article Shungite, Natural Protection From Electromagnetic Waves will inspire other people to explore this wonderful gift from our planet.

I would encourage everyone that reads this article and has had any experience with Shungite to share in the comments section, their thoughts and ideas about this amazing miracle stone . . . thank you for reading!

Well Nadine, Sue, Nancy and others the article has been well received, it has garnered 575 page views in a little over 24 hours . . . but for some odd reason is not featured.

Hub Pages quality control makes no sense to me, so I don't even let it bother me anymore and since they don't tell you why it isn't featured . . . who really cares?

I'm sure it will be over a thousand page views by this weekend, so why they wouldn't want to feature it just makes them look bad not me.

I'm glad you guys liked it, their is a lot of information out there on Shungite but I do not think it is coal.

So that's polished coal, right? The hardest, least burnable form of coal is anthracite, which contains 92% carbon. Carbon content of the flammable kind we usually burn is around 60%, and the other kinds are in between those two amounts (including graphite). How is shungite different?

Bucky Balls this is a great article Blue... Lol

TY I love my Shungite, one night I was listening to Wolfspiritradio, and the two DJ's realized that they were , and had been being Beamed for quite a while and just after they had interviewed Simon Parks...

It was mind-blowing to know and learn that they were being Targeted with ELF's VELF's and Extra Extra Low ELF's, at levels so high that they were surprised they had survived in the environment of Super Low Frequencies at those levels, that for so long...

Both DJ's complained about losses of Radio Signals Wi-Fi and interferences with controversial UFO disclosers, and after they Bought their Huge Shungite Tower Busters for the Radio Station, all Problems of that sort have abated, and ever since then no more problems, including the dratted Cluster headaches... Go figure eh!

It is so very sad that we are blasted by Low Frequency, and LRAD on a regular basis, and for years now...

Maybe we will see this end in this lifetime hopefully soon ...
