Are you waiting for a lightning strike? Are you waiting for the perfect night? Are you waiting 'til the time is right? What are you waiting for?

Those questions asked in Nickelback's song are really good questions for most of us. And I have few more... When was the last time you've felt the sun on your face? Or the sun for you is just a yellow ball high up in the sky? Do you breathe? I mean, do you breathe so you can feel the air streaming through your lungs? Do you remember when the last time you've sung your favorite song so loud that your neighbors can hear you were? Are you afraid to do something for your soul?

Well, don't be! Don't be afraid to change the way you live. You can not wait for changes. You have to create change. You have to live your life to the fullest. You only have one.

Present is Important

Many of us live in the past. Or in the future. And we forget that we should do something about our present. We want to write a book, but we are scared. We want to study, but we are too tired. We want a new job, but we don't have the courage to quit the old one.

We want to go on a diet, but only after one more pizza and beer. We want to have a sexy body, but we don't have a time for a gym. We want to quit smoking, but we'll wait next Monday. Or Monday after next Monday: We should stop living a life of endless excuses. We should make plans and act. Right now!

If You Fall, Get Up Stronger

It doesn't matter how many times you will fall. What matters is how many times you will get up. Every one of us had failures. This is a cruel world and many people learned that lesson on a hard way.

Do you have problems at school? The solution is simple - you have to believe in yourself, try harder, study harder and better grades will come.

You are not the only one who had difficulties at work. Try to talk to your superiors. If that doesn't work, maybe it's time to find a better job.

Your girlfriend/boyfriend just left you. So what! There are 7,5 billion people on Earth; I'm sure you will find your soul mate.

Create a list of your failures as a reminder and motivation for a better tomorrow. Don't be ashamed and don't be afraid to try again. You are not allowed to give up! You are not allowed to wait. "What if" will always haunt you if you don't persist.

It's Time to Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

We all have a zone in which we feel comfortable, but that doesn't mean there aren't better things for us outside that zone. Because of those comfort zones, you will reject a job offer even if you know that that job is better than yours. Because of those comfort zones, you will stay home and watch a basketball game on TV even if your friends call you to go out.

Because of those comfort zones, you won't go to the gym even if it's obvious that you have a few kilos more. Stop it right now! There are great things for you, but you won't find them, guess where - in your comfort zone

Find a Job You Love

You have, to be honest with yourself and answer this question - do you love your job. People who like what they are doing for a living are happier. When you are happy, you are more productive. And if you are more productive, then you have every chance to succeed.

According to polls, 68% of Americans feel unfulfilled with the work they do. Don't be one of them. If you don't like your job, then you have to do something about it. The best thing you can do is to quit. Say goodbye and shut the door. You think that that would be irrational? Okey then. Don't do it, but at least try to find a job that will make you happy and keep you motivated. Do it today, next week or by the end of a month. But don't wait too long. I repeat - don't wait for changes, create change.

Stop Wasting Time

You can always find a time for things you don't do quite often. Especially the good one. All you need is will.

The easiest way to do that is to get up from bed earlier. If you woke up at 8 am this morning, then tomorrow you should get up at 6 am. Choose what you are going to do next - jogging in the park, stretching at Riverside or swimming in the pool. Then go home and take a shower. At, let's say, 8 am, ask yourself do you feel better now or at the same time yesterday. I think we all know the answer.

For Once In Life, Take a Risk

You think that risk doesn't pay off. Then ask J. K. Rowling, Bill Gates or Sylvester Stallone. The creator of Harry Potter struggled to find a publisher for her book, but she never gave up. A single mother believed in a work she had created, took a risk, and it paid off. Gates risked even more. He dropped out of Harvard after two years to found Microsoft. The rest is a history.

Stallone was driven into a corner, with a baby on the way and no money to pay the rent. Sly wrote a screenplay for Rocky and producers loved it. Only, there was a problem - Stallone wanted to play the lead role. And again, the risk paid off. He took a smaller paycheck, but Rocky was a blockbuster, earning more than 117 million dollars at the Box Office.

Feel the Rain On Your Skin

So, you can sit and wait for your big chance. Maybe that chance will come, maybe it won't. And, you can fight for that chance and live your life to the fullest.

Feel the rain on your skin, a gust of the wind on your neck, the grass underneath your feets, bird's song, a rush of adrenaline when you do something you've been dreaming for years. As teacher John Keating in the movie, Dead Poets Society said: Carpe diem. Seize the day. Make your life extraordinary.
