Sample Question and Answer

Capital punishment is a brutal decision and should be abolished. Give your views in not less than 250 words if you agree or disagree with it.

In present days, a continuously increasing number of people are concerned about the issue that capital punishment should be abolished. However, whether capital punishment should be abolished or not is a controversial issue. Some people think that capital punishment should be abolished while others maintain that capital punishment should not be abolished. In my point of view, I am in favor of the latter opinion.

As far as I am concerned, the view that capital punishment should not be abolished is quite reasonable. In the first place, I personally believe that capital punishment should not be abolished. It means that criminals such as murders will be killed by the government if the crime is severe enough. A good case in point is that criminals would be afraid to commit a serious crime because they will fear the death penalty. What is more, it is obvious that population is increasing too fast. This is to say, if we have capital punishment we are lowering the population. There is an example that can fully illustrate this point is that a long time ago England had to send there convicts to Australia because there were too many criminals. Furthermore, it is needless to argue that capital punishment prevents the risk of a prisoner escaping, which means a saver world for the rest of us. For instance, if high profile prisoners escape from jail they will continue to do bad things.

But that is not to say capital punishment abolished is unacceptable. Certainly capital punishment abolished can have a few advantages. However, we can not deny the drawbacks it brings. First, people may feel it is immoral to kill another man. Second, the prisoner may have been framed. If the wrong person was killed his/her family will be furious and may sue the government.

From what we have discussed above, we can clearly draw a conclusion that capital punishment should not be abolished. Meanwhile, we should not ignore that fact that capital punishment being abolished also has some advantages. By doing so we can ensure that the world is a safer place.
