How to Find the Best Auto School

When choosing a trade school, there are many different factors that must be considered. These include but are not limited to location, cost, job outlook, specializations, education/training style, financial aid opportunities, housing, and many more. This is a lot to take in for someone trying to filter through all of the best schools in the nation.

In order to help, we sifted through the best automotive trade schools in the country according to a few different things. These schools are all accredited automotive schools and they will help you get to your dream career as an automotive technician. Along with that, many of these will get you on your way to become an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified mechanic which will help you get paid more in your auto mechanic journey.

Along with this, many of the schools listed offer multiple different types of automotive degrees such as automotive collision repair, diesel technology, auto body, and more. In fact, some even offer motorcycle technology and agricultural equipment technology. So whatever you want to study or specialize in, the following schools will help!

Criteria Used

Rating these schools can be quite difficult, so we used a range of different criteria to make the top choices. Rating the actual education quality is almost impossible so we came up with the following five parameters:

  1. Average cost of tuition
  2. Typical debt-load of graduates
  3. Average early career salary
  4. Average mid-career salary
  5. Graduation rate

These do not account for all factors used to gather schools into our list, they are the criteria used to narrow down the top ten. As a high school student, you can see what you may potentially gain from attending each school so this should be helpful. To gather data College Scorecard and Payscale were utilized which help immensely in data collection and evaluation.
