The Geometry of Love

Updated on January 20, 2012

The most difficult lesson of all is Love. Why?

For this, I will ask you to take out a one dollar bill, in order to see the pyramid and "The Eye". Indeed the back of the one dollar bill is truly fascinating.

"The Eye" is represented in so many cultures to symbolize omnipresence it is hard to miss it.

For one second consider "The Eye" as Love and the bases of the pyramid as Truth, Beauty, Power and Wisdom, juxtaposed with each other and fully interchangeable, fully supporting each other.

Contrary to the popular saying, "Love is blind", Love sees fully what is behind the personalities and is able to go beyond the obvious. It is able to forgive and forget and start over.

On beauty, seen through the eyes of Love, everything is beautiful- for the one who loves truly relates to both the beauty and the grotesqueness of the person they love, in their wholeness and uniqueness.

With love comes Wisdom, the wisdom to endure momentary lapses when the ego tries to assert itself and demands something of the other person. For one who loves demands nothing and expects nothing knowing that in loving there is already an inherent gift. The capacity to love.

Power, oh, there is no power in the Universe greater than love. For God is love.

Thank you, Astra Nomik, how lovely. Please do ask me anything. I am old and seasoned, in matters of the heart...

Funny I was writing one of my friends today about this person who has broken my heart four times in a single year. I love him unconditionally and my friends are all saying "You are mad.."

How can I really get mad at a spoiled child who is simply "being"...

Too many toys is not good for a child..this is my conclusion.

      Much love,

      Melinda

Oh my, I should have found this sooner. Thankyou Melinda! You are so knowing about love and romance of the heart. If only I could pick your brains! Heh! Me kidding! I will be a more regular visitor here. I am an incurable romantic. And a softie!

      Hello, Don,

Thanks. I keep thinking of this passage when I was thinking of how my heart can be offered to God.

It says " A heart filled only with the senses is not worthy of being offered to nor accepted by God"

So when I pray,I pray for a pure heart worthy of being offered.

I am afraid I am very far away from it but day after day when I pray, I think a little dross comes off and one day it will be pure enough. In this lifetime, I hope.

      Kind regards,

      Melinda

      Dear DynamicsS

I often wondered why in the spiritual books...Love is always the last to be discussed..it seems so illogical..

The fact is that we are tested on the heart.

In the Upanishads, it says "One hundred and one rays originate from the heart. One hundred leads to death, the other one leads to immortality"

The reason for this is that Love has many hues, many colors, many variations and many many energies. Only when our hearts are pure and not occupied by the senses can it be offered to and accepted by God, however we define Him to be. Then we would know the Truth.

Indeed the only test of awakening is seeing that your joys are mine and your sorrows are mine as well. We are all connected and until one realizes this, then it is still a long ways. Intellectually it is easy to understand. At the heart level, one has to be tested again and and again and again. The test is like fire melting the ore that contains the gold.

Melinda, indeed love conqers all. Wouldn't it be awesome if human's capacity to love is actualized completely? Love, such a short word but long in its reach.

      Thanks for sharing.
