The Laws of Attraction Vs Faith: Is There a Difference?

Updated on July 31, 2013

An Inner Struggle

I recently came upon an inner struggle within myself, and found myself thinking, why does this always happen to me. When suddenly I recognized my train of thought as to be negative and that was why my situations always turn out the same. I recognized the Laws of Attraction theory that I was knowledgeable of. Being a Christian, I felt almost guilt as to following a scientific method of energies, when I knew I should be turning to God for help. So I sat down and broke down the two concepts, and found that there is no difference; only labels.

The Laws of Attraction

(Quantum Physics) It is translated as the use of energy to bring about what you want to you. By sending out positive or negative energies throughout the universe, or the cosmos, to attract that of the same result. It is a three step process; Ask, Believe, Receive.

As that saying goes, “Attitude is everything.” If you maintain a positive attitude and are always optimistic, then you are sending unwavering positive energies throughout the universe to draw or attract that same positive result that you desire.

So does the same go for negative energy. If you are always unhappy and pessimistic about life, don't expect for it to change much. If you are always dwelling on a problem, or constantly asking your self “Why doe this always happen to me?” then you are sending out those negative vibes out into the universe, and therefore, attracting those same negative results. Because you see yourself always in that situation; you will be.

Faith

To believe that something will come about through God. To believe with out a doubt that what ever your heart truly desires will come to pass by the power of God. Here are some scriptures that touch on faith.

Matthew 7:7-8-(NIV) Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 21:22-(NIV) And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Energies sent must be accompanied by coinciding actions

Laws of Attraction: If you are sending the mental vibes to receive a desirable out come, but you don't change what you do, so that you may allow your self to receive your desired results, then you are contradicting your desires. Actions speaks louder than words.

Sending out the desired attraction will only attract the situations which enable you create your desired results by the choices you make, within that situation.

Faith: James 2:17- (NIV):“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

James 2:14-18-(ESV): “So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

By having faith in God that you will get your desired result, without doing what you need to do to receive the results is contradicting.

Three Step Process:

Ask: Now that you know specifically what you want, ask for it. Whether you make it a verbal statement, or asking through Prayer. The power of positive conviction.

Believe: Believe without a sliver of doubt that you will get what it is that you desire. Aside from just believing, change your actions to mirror what you want. You don't want your actions to contradict what you are sending out.

Receive: Be open to receiving what you asked for. Keep an open mind. Make it work for you. You cannot place limitations on what you receive. Be thankful that you got what you wanted.

So what is the difference?

There is no difference between the Laws of Attraction and Faith other than their origins. The Laws of Attraction is a scientific approach, as where Faith is a religious concept. Both have said the same thing, its only a matter of one's belief structure and what works for them.

There is a difference. The law of attraction focuses entirely on the abilities of SELF. It is the doctrine of demons. It excludes the word of God leaving Him out completely. Faith is a matter of trusting God and not yourself. It gives Him total control over the outcome of our lives whereas the law of attraction leads a man to believe he's in control. It is calling on a force other than God. The enemy is subtle in his ways at times. He has a way of making something ungodly seem harmless and attractive. This is the very reason we are encouraged to acknowledge HIM in all thy ways that He may direct your path. Every is not biblical. We cannot mix our personal beliefs in with His word.☺

The law of attraction is just a secular recognition of God's Law of faith - and principals from God's word and not giving God the credit! The movie "The Secret" only hints of having the information coming from "ancient religions". It borrowed from a widely read book, THE BIBLE.

The law of attraction and the universe = The law of faith in the Word of the GOD who created the universe.

It is an observance of what God has done minus a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ. It's cherry picking from the truths of scripture.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION NOT MENTIONING GOD IS THE WHOLE PURPOSE AND AGENDA OF SATAN AND THAT IS FOR MAN TO HAVE A LIFE AND A LIFE THAT THEY ENJOY AND A LIFE THAT THEY ALWAYS WANTED WITHOUT ANY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THROUGH HIS SON JESUS. THE MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE CREATION OF MAN BY GOD WAS FOR GOD TO FELLOWSHIP MAN AND FOR MAN TO SERVE GOD. JUST READ THE FIRST 3 CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK OF GENESIS AND SEE HOW SATAN SEPARATED MAN FROM THAT DUTY AND THAT SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP HE HAD WITH GOD. SATAN KNOWS MAN AND WHAT MAN WANTS FOR HIMSELF. SOME OF THOSE THINGS ARE GOOD AND RIGHT AND IF MAN CAN GET THEM A PART FROM GOD THEN THE NATURAL THING TO ASSUME AND TO BELIEVE IS THAT MAN DOESN'T NEED GOD ANYWAY AND NEITHER DOES HE NEED HIM FOR ANYTHING WHICH IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE.

I'm still confuse about this matter. Law of Attraction does not mention God in any way. On the other hand, faith sometimes is referred to as a firm belief on its own (Mark 9:23), while sometimes it is put on God (John 14:13-14). So, are there two kinds of faith? One which is impersonal and works as a physical law, like the gravity, and another which only operates through the explicit will of God?

The law of attraction is really the law of faith. It is a law that God has set up in the earth and the universe. It does work, and you don't have to be a christian for it to work. Because the law of faith was established by God. But Romans 1:25 says who changed the truth of God into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator who is blessed forever Amen. When you ask the universe for things you are worshipping the universe. You might be saying, well when I follow these concepts they always works for me. It's going to work because it is a law that God has set up in the universe. And that law is the law of faith. Satan has a way of giving man half truths. He knows what the laws of God are. He has revealed this law to man and called it the law of attraction. He is basically telling you that you can have what you want without Gods help. Jesus said to have faith in God "Mark 11:22" not in the universe; because He is the creator of the universe. I encourage you to study the laws of God. Look in the bible and go on Google, theres lots of information you can find there.

I understand and agree that the process is the same. My issue is thatone says it's in your power to have the life you wish and the other says that God is giving you the power to have what you want and that is way different.

So the question is, do we have the power? Does God grant us our prayers or is it somehow both?
