The Psychic Octopus Named Paul

Updated on April 4, 2012

Game predicting Octopus

Now I haven't been following the World Cup, and I definitely don't watch soccer. But this creature has been all over the news as of late. Why you may ask? Because Paul the Octopus is apparently psychic! Yea I know kinda creepy right? But they are saying that the Octopus has predicted games in the past and the turn out was right.

Apparently how Paul the Octopus picks the winners.....

They but two glass boxes into his tank with the team flags on them (I'm gathering that they only pick on the games that Germany is up against) put some sort of food item in it and then he picks the winners.

And the consensus is that he has had a remarkable 100% success rate in the pickings. According to the people at the Oberhausen Sea Life center, where Paul the Octopus, lives he has accurately predicted every game for Germany in this FIFA World Cup event.

So if Paul the Octopus is right this time - Germany will defeat England on Sunday. And even though I don't watch the FIFA World Cup, I might have to this time to see if the predictions are accurate! What about you?

Hm - let me think. . . now if 11 young studs out kicking and shoving a ball up and down a field don't capture my interest, I just don't know how much chance an 8-legged mollusk swami can expect! haha - just kidding. That is intriquing, gqgirl, I must admit. But wouldn't it be simpler to just watch the evening news and find out how accurate this tenacious (pun intended) critter is with his predictions?

      Cute hub, hon.
