Salman Khan CEO & Founder of KhanAcademy

ABC News back in November 2010

What's happening to Eductation Today! Online

Education is something that has made the world what it is in terms of man-made everything today. Anywhere from mathematics, sciences, astrology, astronomy, geology, biology, philosophy, physics, and all the other pertinent educational courses of study that provide the needed platform for people to learn and to succeed.

There has been a huge dramatic change in the education system, and its definitely one that has occurred on the web today, about 4 years ago. A guy named Salman Khan (Harvard Law Business Graduate & MIT graduate) made such an effective change with it all himself, all starting out when he had left his career paying job he was working for, where he had been a hedge fund analyst. It all began back in 2006 when he had signed up to youtube, and prior to that he had amounted a great deal of content, while helping his cousin with online tutoring by using some cool Yahoo doodling tool.

Now shortly after making his strategic move he made to leave his career paying job, he had also decided to emerge onto the scene's of Youtube, due to the alarming response he was receiving daily from comments and feedback, from viewers who we're beginning to become much more demanding to see & learn more from him.

He quickly responded to his new calling he had by adjusting his focus on new initiatives, to begin building into his new Youtube channel, and it was to be called Khan Academy, where his viewers began rolling in, 20,000+ views to be exact on many of his videos over time, and little did he know he was headed for the most amazing uprising onto the web, in terms of the education and potential to connect with an entire globe of viewers.

Microsoft's Bill Gates, and many other great minds, and corporate personalities caught wind of Salman Khan's activity on the web over time as well I believe beginning back in 2009 early 2010, after his videos he submitted onto youtube began picking up huge attention from its users worldwide.

Salman Khan decided to create an alternative educative resource platform of his very own known as KhanAcademy, over a year or so, by uploading 100's and today amounting to 3000+ videos of informative educational tutorial videos for students worldwide, next thing you know he had his very own network up and running onto the web, that helped his users locate and interact with his Youtube content.

He's currently raking in the views in the 100's of millions, from not only youtube users, but also schools worldwide themselves, tuning into Salman Khans inspiring videos, he simply began to help a family member with.

Gates on Charlie Rose - Talks about the Wrath of Khan

Salman Khan & Bill Gates Meet both digitally and in person

Bill Gates has always been the technology icon of the 20th & 21st century with his rise to computing stardom back in the late 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's, Windows was first erected back in August of 1985, according to Wikipedia.

This superb super rich guy Bill, was stunned one day to see his son was watching, and learning some educational course material online, on youtube which was put together by Salman Khan. At that particular time though, Khan really wasn't as well known as he truly is today.

This instantly prompted Bill Gates to inquire about who the person was behind the making of such a powerfully informative video, and he was truly determined to also meet him. "I was watching and following these awesome events myself, back in 2009 when it all unfolded online, and eventually was presented to us a meeting of two great minds on TED, an eventually published onto Youtube, and on the KhanAcademy website itself."

Here's a cool video he was running on his website when it all began

What a Bright Idea!

Salman Khan's Idea for placing a newer much more easier accessible ways to learn, using a cool digital interface, has proven to be a true success today. Many students who use his platform worldwide can all agree, shown by the countless numbers of insightful comments and feedback he receives daily, monthly, and yearly in the millions.

Its been far over 50,000,000 million response he's received to be exact, and that's some true awesome educative powers in networking and online education today. Of course he has the backing of Microsoft, Google, and many more huge online corporations to help in his efforts to re-educate the globe, just one student at a time.

The KhanAcademy Today

Today KhanAcademy has become world renowned for its high standards in educational excellence bolstering a virtual education platform, which allows for students to learn at their own pace, and is also a interactive tutorial platform. Its also a non profit organization that focuses major emphasis on the elemental factors of online educational E-learning.

Students worldwide now have a way to keep track of not only their academic performance, but active knowledge level, and its not only informative, they can also get assistance using the platform by assigning education coaches virtually to help keep them going with their performance, and there's no timing schedule or expectations to prevent from them learning anything they see fit.

This is an idea that has inspired many teachers worldwide to also follow suit and to adapt their classroom's with the usage of Khan's new age network, all the student need to do is log in, and get started on the virtual lessons, and quiz sessions via internet connection.

KhanAcademy also has attracted the likes of a bright web location known for its provisions of online art history, known as SmArtHistory. It was built into KhanAcademy as a sort of bridge between both organizations, since they both made youtube videos available for students, and have decided to merge causes on the web in educating students worldwide.

Wow! Thanks so much for this awesome comment, I don't really know what to say, and so I will just try to keep it short and brief.

Nominating my hub for an award or anything for that matter is quite an honor in itself, and I'm truly appreciative, of your wanting to choose this particular hub of mine.

I been following the Khan Story for quite some time now, and mainly because its so inspiring to me, and I'm sure many others worldwide, he stands all educational wise for us all, the little people.

All of my life I have loved education, I've done great in school, and have always dreamed of doing great things with it, and to actually meet someone who is like Khan on the web through his motivation, detrmination, and drive for success. To also learn of his personal triumph over tremendous adversity has brought me the courage to do more myself. He is the secret to who I am digitally today, and I am so happy you can sense such a presence even by these words I've typed into the screen.

Thanks again VocalCoach I'm simply blown away by your kindness being portrayed here, this has actually brought me to tears as I'm writing this, yikes.

Thanks @Tammyswallow, yeah its tough to learn of everything these days, because there far to much going on at once on the web. That's where my expertise comes in, I love researching and locating the best web news, content, ect.... So there's much more in store for everyone on hubpages.

I've been building up and storing so much it takes time though, to release much of it into hub writing format for users to absorb easily as this hub here.

Stay tuned, because there's much more to come and in the many educative forms we have today such as KhanAcademy. Oh and thanks for reading and for sharing with me.

Great hub, well-written and informative. I have heard of Khan and his work through Ted Talks online. Revolutionary ideas for sure; if only mainstream education would work so well.
