"Ancient City"

There is a story that is whispered by the wind of long forgotten times. Even to this day you may find the truth written in the walls of lost temples or broken down houses, each one has the cracks to prove they have withstand time and nature. Even though it got destroyed by the Earth breathing, it stands taller today than ever before.

The third capital to be founded in Guatemala by the Spaniards, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its beauty and history, it is protected today by all its inhabitants and opens its door to anyone who dares take a trip down memory lane.

In every corner you will find remains of temples, churches and convents that use to stand so tall that they even blocked out the sun, today they stand in ruins. Ruins that still have lots to share, if your heart is willing you can take the path that leads to redemption, by standing within their walls you can still breath burnt incense that was used to cleanse the soul.

Walking down its rough cobblestone roads, you will find yourself lost in a period long before our time, when horses and carriages roamed the roads. And people greeted everyone with affection and honour.

Even after the devastating earthquake that shuck its foundations and brought the city to the ground, today you will still find its picturesque background, full of color and life. People travel from all over the world to stand in the middle of such beautiful and historic city. Today it represents what Guatemala was and still is to this date.

If you close your eyes… you will be able to listen to the wind whisper stories of long forgotten times.
