How to Cope With MBA Stress

Updated on March 10, 2018

This is your time

We all face an intricate and confounding problem at certain point in our lives while making decisions that are most likely to define us and our future.

There comes a time when we need to make a career choice and we think to ourselves that school was easy and trouble-free. Well, yes it was, but at some point we do realize, that life moves on and you have got to move on with it cherishing the pleasing memories of the past.
We usually consult parents, relatives, guardians or friends when we are feeling perplexed about choosing a career path. There are innumerable options within an MBA program and numerous things to consider while making a choice which makes it a gruelling and arduous task.

Everybody wants to join a prestigious college and eventually get placed in one of the top-tier companies. You start expecting even before the journey has begun; a good salary, enjoyable work environment, amiable colleagues and flexible work hours. It is good to have plans in your mind but do not stress over it, that inturn would deviate you from your path.

Enjoy the journey and the destination is ought to be splendid and delightful.

MBA demands time. It is challenging and exigent. You need to toil and put in efforts in order to accomplish your goals and aspirations. This requires you to stay away from home, probably in a hostel which induces a feeling of ambivalence. You are filled with so many emotions at once; Happiness, anxiety, enthusiasm, nervousness and apprehension.
There is a fright of staying away from home yet a want to be independent.A fret of living with strangers but also the contentment of making new friends. There is wrath as people might be judgemental but also the thrill of comprehending the mind-set of different people.A fear of letting parents down but also the desire of making them proud.

Plenty questions. Countless doubts. Interminable thoughts. Constant self-analysis.
Often, these bewildering and puzzling perceptions make students take the wrong road in life and end up in horrendous addictions. When you are away from home, you need to make decisions at every point. It is not worth destroying your life under peer pressure for the sake of momentary pleasure. Bad habits are only going to infect and defile your mind. That world is absolutely desolate and futile that can never yeild any productive outcome. Hence, make the right choice. You will thank yourself in future.

Your mind is more powerful than you think it is. Every thought, positive or negative, that crosses your mind has an ability to change your life.
A negative thought is like bacteria. Under suitable conditions, they double their number every few minutes. If you provide it with the required conditions in your mind, it multiplies but with the right treatment, it could die too. You need to decide which thought takes control over your mind. It is up to your discretion.

At the end of 2 years, when you look back and reflect, you would want those years to have mattered and altered your life for the good. You would want to return back with notable achievements. You would want to go back to your family and hear them say 'We are proud of you.' You would want to see yourself independent, clear-sighted and insightful.

You are solely responsible for your own actions. Everyone wants to hear praises and applauds. Nobody likes the sound of criticism and defamation. Feeling of guilt and regret never leaves. It endures forever. This is your time. This is your life. Make it count.
