Flooding in Florida

While all of Florida has breathed a collective sign of relief as we missed Ophelia. Hurricane season is not over by any means. The news had reported that there would be a system this weekend but the reports were substantially less then what we are experiencing. Florida is pretty used to these storms but this one is quite notable.

We have had wind gusts well above 40 miles per hour. And the down pour is torrential. Literally the streets are flooded and there are crew men pumping the water out of the flooded areas. Stores are flooded and sand bags are out. This system that is over Florida and the Caribbean is quite a rain maker. And it has a 30% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. while over land. And while that is a low chance the effects on Florida are quite substantial. And it doesn't preclude a cyclone hitting the East Coast.

This storm is headed in a North Eastern pattern so East coast prepare yourselves if this storm doesn't die out. Florida is under Flood Watch until tomorrow night.

      Hi GNelson,

Over here on the East Coast it is really windy and we have limbs down.

You are on the West side of it. Yesterday I was pelted and it was really flooding. We are still under high wind alerts and a flood watch until 8pm.

Thanks for reading, commenting and providing feedback.

Tampa bay area was fairly dry until today, Sunday. We are getting it good today. Just walked the dog in the rain. I didn't melt, yet. The high winds yesterday broke some tree limbs and knocked some power out.

      HI Sunshine625,

Good to hear from you. Are you completely flooded out as well? 3 more days of this were I am at and we will be under water. We were flooded by 10am. Literally the sewers are gushing back out water.

I guess we should have built an ark for this one.

Thanks for reading, commenting and providing feedback.

Yep it's been raining in Orlando since 6:00am and hasn't let up at all. I'm enjoying it BUT not for 3 more days. It beats having a hurricane though.
