The news had reported that there would be a system this weekend but the reports were substantially less then what we are experiencing. Florida is pretty used to these storms but this one is quite notable.
We have had wind gusts well above 40 miles per hour. And the down pour is torrential. Literally the streets are flooded and there are crew men pumping the water out of the flooded areas. Stores are flooded and sand bags are out. This system that is over Florida and the Caribbean is quite a rain maker. And it has a 30% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. while over land. And while that is a low chance the effects on Florida are quite substantial. And it doesn't preclude a cyclone hitting the East Coast.
This storm is headed in a North Eastern pattern so East coast prepare yourselves if this storm doesn't die out. Florida is under Flood Watch until tomorrow night.
