Try This Science Test.

Updated on March 11, 2012

I have been asked by a certain young man from Carlisle to write another test. I think he must like being tortured!

Please put your answers in a ‘Comments’ box. I will give you the correct responses in 2 weeks.

As before:

NO GOOGLING

Q1 Human blood is made up of 4 main parts. Two of them are platelets and red blood cells. What are the names of the other 2 parts?

Q2 Mass is measured in kg (kilograms). Weight is measured in N (Newtons).

1kg is equivalent to 10N.

A person has a mass of 70kg on Earth. This person is in a spaceship on their way to Mars and is 2000000km from Earth. What is the mass of the person in the spaceship?

Q3 We need artificial fertilisers to improve the growth and thus the yield of crops. There are three main chemical elements in these fertilisers. Two of these elements are phosphorus and potassium. What is the name of the third?

Q4 The Universal Gas Law Equation is as follows:

PV = nRT.

What does the symbol ‘P’ stand for?

Q5 There are many sugars – they make our foods and fruits sweet. Two of these sugars are sucrose and fructose. Can you name another two sugars?

I will not reveal people's answers for 2 weeks unless their comment does not contain any attempt at answering!

Good Luck everybody. Results in 2 weeks.

Ian.
