Ways for college students to spend their summer

Updated on October 18, 2011

Summer is around the corner and what better way to spend it by doing some productive activities than just sitting around at home just playing video games or watching tv and being on facebook for long periods of time just wasting your time the whole summer. In order to do that I will share with you some of my seggestions on what every college student can do. For some college students the summer break can be a time when you can catch up with assingments from any subjects as you are going to summer school for example english, math, history and science or any other subject you might be taking.

Or if you are planning to go back to school this summer take online- college classes here is a link resource website on how you can decide if college online learning is for you with a list of online colleges at:

Earn money for the next semester is another option you can do well you can first look for a job at a job searching website that I mostly like is snag- a job. com they not only have daily job postings from different companies but the website also offers helpful job hunting articles, interview tips, how to network with people to land a job successfully : when you go to this link it will take you to the home page section of the website and if you are not a member I invite you to join it's free and easy. Working in the summer will not only give you the opportunity to gain some income but it will also give you the chance to grow your skills and other experiences before hand. Find employment where they offer excellent pay and benefits for yourself make sure to plan to work extra hours if you are a college student wanting to earn more money which I think would be best since the college tuition is risen depending on where you are at in your college career sometimes getting the experience may not have to be that urgent as getting the money so that way you can still have enough time to focus on your schoolwork when the semester begins.

Another case here is there may be some other college peers that may find themselves with not having the time nessessary to earn money needed for their education because of other tasks that might have to be done then here is a suggestion why not spend some time to look for scholarships they are also a great resource that help you pay for college expenses books that you might need for your classes, rent if you are not living with your parents anymore, food, gasoline for your own car or for entertaintment purposes two of some of the scholarship search websites that I know of and can be of a great benefit for you as a college student are and these two have somethings in common they are both beneficial websites that really help you into receiving the scholarship that best matches your financial needs and what you are studying and the best part is that they are both free when you register you get access to student news about different topics create your personal profile and daily scholarship matches and helpful advice and articles on careers, colleges, online colleges student life and health during college years.

Summer is another good time to check out what requirements you still need to complete in order to graduate based on your major or field of study decide and think how many classes you are going to take are you going to go to school in the morning or in the afternoon take your time to make the right choice and reflect on what might be best for you. In the end you will be happy and not stressed out when school time comes again. Look for post- graduating options or see if you can follow a career path anything is possible you just have to go out there and search for the opportunities available you may never know what you will find.

Meanwhile there are more summer vacation options that exist for example travel to another country, attend extra classes, volunteer at a place you wanted to before but never had the chance to, intern at a hospital or a place where they offer your choosen field and remember always make some time to just relax and have some fun with your friends and family anyways the choices are endless on what you can be doing during the summer and I say it is better staying busy in the summer then just being bored and it would not be a pleasant thing either so take my word for it just dont regret it later when the semester comes all over again.

My daughter, Page went to Spain and ended up staying a year. It helped her Spanish, and gave her a better outlook on life. The Spaniards have been there and done that in the world power business. Now they just want to have a good life.

My other daughter, April was a Brevard County lifeguard in the summer. She can smoke most of the men in the run and swim challenges. She can raise better triceps, too.

      Enough bragging. Great hub.
