Ways the World Would Be Different If the Nazis Had Won World War II
It is well known that in our day and age the US is the world's strongest superpower; and this was mostly the result of World War I and World War II. The Allies in Europe relied heavily upon the US for money, equipment and other resources. Countries like the UK lost its dominant stance in world politics due to the damage of WWII; whereas the US thrived off of repayments and role in the war.
If Germany had won World War II, it would undoubtedly be the World's greatest superpower. Not only would Germany control the politics of Europe and Russia, but also the US would not have became the superpower that it is today. The European Union would not exist, in its place would be a German supreme authority over Europe with control over basically everything and everyone.
It is difficult to imagine a world where the US is not seen as the "world police" or a superpower. Perhaps with Germany as the world's strongest nation, there would be more peace as they would have to bow to the German regime and it is possible the wars started in the Middle East by the US would never have happened.
If Nazi Germany had Won
Democracy is the beacon of freedom in the Western world. People in the West are able to freely vote, move and work thanks to Democracy. World War II is the cause of the widespread Democracy that we enjoy today. Countries such as the UK, US and France were able to defeat the undemocratic regime of Nazi Germany. Since World War II we see very few countries that do not have a Democratic government.
If Germany had won World War II then democracy would be portrayed as the "evil" that Nazi Germany is seen as today. Voting would be almost non-existent in World politics. Hitler's dictatorship was a frightening ordeal, particularly for minority groups such as Jews, blacks, homeless people and disabled people. Dictatorship in the hands of an evil person would definitely mean society would have much different values, opinions and would even consist of different people.
“Terrorism is the best political weapon for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death.”
Things that would not be in existence
If Germany had won World War II then many things which landmark the present day or in recent history would never have existed and information which we have in our minds today would just be fantasies.
Israel - Israel would not be a country, the Jewish population would not have been displaced after the War and would not have fled Europe to take refuge in what we now consider as Israel. Therefore, Palestine would also be the nation that it was before the war rather than the war-ridden state which is being invaded by Israel at this very moment.
UN/NATO/EU - These groups of nations would never have existed if the Nazis had won World War II. All of these groups were created in order to encourage peace. The European Union was specifically made to make sure something like World War II would never happen again. All of these groups include the nation of Germany today, however they would not exist if Nazi Germany had been victorious.
Canada's Independence - If Nazi Germany had won the war then Great Britain would have tried extremely hard to hold on to its control of Canada as they would be in dire need of resources. The British Empire was always good at using other countries for its own good; if the Nazis had won then Britain would have had to do this.
The Euro - The Euro as a currency would just not exist as the European Union would not have been created and therefore the main currency in Europe would have been the pre-war German currency, the Reichsmark.
Space Exploration - Supposedly, we landed on the moon in 1969. Space exploration was really the result of the competition between Russia and the US to be the world's greatest superpower. There were great strives in technology and we reached the moon. This definitely would not have existed if the Nazis had won the war. Who knows, maybe to this day we still would not have landed on the moon if the Nazis were victorious.
