Were These Places Visited By Aliens?
The universe may perhaps be infinite and there’s an infinite probability that we have been visited by aliens. Some scholars, on the other hand, had not taken seriously the theory of ancient astronauts.
Are aliens real? It depends on who you ask. One of the dominant figures in the world of Ancient Aliens theorists is Giorgio Tsoukalos, renowned through his appearance in Ancient Aliens. Giorgio started the idea that the ancient people were visited by extraterrestrial beings and they had significantly influenced how the modern culture develops, know-how and our belief. The theory of ancient aliens posits that the early men’s religion originated in their belief that the alien visitors were divine beings.
Other than Giorgio Tsoukalos, Erich Anton Paul von Daniken, who authored the book, Chariots of the Gods? He and Giorgio is on the same wavelength, that the culture of early humans was influenced by the extraterrestrial visitors. A huge majority of men of science, however, shunned the information he shared in his book, but not Carl Sagan. Carl Sagan is one scientist who dwelt on the possibility that the interaction between the ancient astronauts and the early humans transpired.
Däniken writes about his belief that structures such as the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and the Moai of Easter Island and artifacts from that period represent higher technological knowledge than is presumed to have existed at the times they were manufactured. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_von_D%C3%A4niken)
Why did they believe that these places had been once visited by ancient aliens?
Puma punku-Nestled in the remains of the ancient city of Tiahuanaco, Bolivia, is the megalithic ruins site called Puma Punku. Archeologists believe the site to be the cradle of civilization in South America–predating the Myans. (http://www.theancientaliens.com/puma-punku)
Puma punku’s complex and magnificent stone works was the reason why ancient alien proponents included this place as one of the places that might have been visited by extraterrestrial beings. Their argument was plain and simple; it requires a refined technology in building the massive and complex stone works which at that time is possibly absent.
Moai Of Easter Island- Easter Island (Rapa Nui: Rapa Nui, Spanish: Isla de Pascua) is a Chilean island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeasternmost point of the Polynesian Triangle. Easter Island is famous for its 887 extant monumental statues, called moai, created by the early Rapa Nui people. In 1995, UNESCO named Easter Island a World Heritage Site, with much of the island protected within Rapa Nui National Park. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Island)
Construction of the moai statues appears to have stopped around the time of European contact in 1722, when Dutch explorers landed on Easter Day. Over the next century the moai would fall over, either intentionally pushed over or from simple neglect.(http://www.livescience.com/24021-easter-island-rapa-nui.html)
The Moai statues, other than mysterious, are humongous. With the size of the statue, it is hard to move it to where it was erected. Thus, the theory that the extraterrestrial beings bringing in advanced technology sprouted.
Stonehenge- Stonehenge took nearly 1,500 years to build and was believed to be constructed between 3000 and 2000 BC. The construction of Stonehenge begins with the outer ring consisting of sarsen sandstone slabs excavated from local quarries in England’s Salisbury Plain, while the inner ring being built with smaller bluestone rocks that scientists have tracked back to Preseli Hills in Wales, nearly 200 miles away from the construction site of Stonehenge. (http://anthropology.msu.edu/anp264-ss13/2013/03/26/stonehenge-the-ancient-alien-theory/)
With the lack of historical records, the making of Stonehenge and its use surrounded a mystery. The sizes of the stones are impossible to transport using the technology of the date it was constructed.
Egyptian Pyramids-The shape of Egyptian pyramids is thought to represent the primordial mound from which the Egyptians believed the earth was created. The shape of a pyramid is thought to be representative of the descending rays of the sun, and most pyramids were faced with polished, highly reflective white limestone, in order to give them a brilliant appearance when viewed from a distance. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_pyramids)
Pyramids, just like the other structures, were theorized to have been built with the assistance of ancient astronauts. The conclusions of the ancient aliens proponents’ were based on the idea that the technological know-how that was required at the time to build these structures, doesn’t match with the technology of the inhabitants of the place.
Nasca Lines- On a high and dry plateau some 200 miles southeast of Lima, more than 800 long, straight white lines are etched into the Peruvian desert, seemingly at random. Joining them are 300 geometric shapes and 70 figures of animals, including a spider, monkey, and hummingbird. Those who advocated the theory of ancient aliens asserted that, in order to build the figures, an aerodynamic craft is needed.
To conclude, the idea of extraterrestrial beings might be factual or might be a fabrication of a human mind. Open-mindedness and curiosity are important attributes to put this theory forward.
