What Rights (a poem of Reconciliation)

Updated on August 23, 2015
The choice of our faith and our worship is granted by God...
The choice of our faith and our worship is granted by God...
To believe or not to believe...that is a question that many propose...
To believe or not to believe...that is a question that many propose...
For every bad day...there awaits a silver lining..
For every bad day...there awaits a silver lining..
Our God's patience, is to infinity...He is all knowing and sees us, as his creations...
Our God's patience, is to infinity...He is all knowing and sees us, as his creations...
We are each gifted with a mind, to decide our own futures and faiths...
We are each gifted with a mind, to decide our own futures and faiths...
Those to doubt...the atheists...the agnostics... are given this ability to decide by their maker...
Those to doubt...the atheists...the agnostics... are given this ability to decide by their maker...

As we witness the smug, those to seem self assured, in denunciation,

Exhibited in broad daylight...their loudest pronounced invocation.

The seemingly pious, as a defecation...every hate filled advocation,

A denial of their faith...in any relation, seen as such an abomination!

What right do those who deny, try to persecute...blatantly, do so vilify,

People of any religious persuasion...wrongly accused, and to falsify?

What is missing in their own lives, their loud criticism now so justifies,

Can failing in their own being, represent wrongs, we're seeing, its lies?

Whose rights, are to so adamantly refuse, the least quoted beatitude,

Do they really expect, by their attitude...these concepts of ineptitude ?

When, in their pitiful progression, lost all faith, with no self vindication,

Declaring themselves, in their proposed propagation, as its veneration?

What rights...their's...so granted by our God, despite all boasts, him, to nod,

The belief, the faith, even, as blind,...his own choosing, of the human kind..

A generous creator of this universe, its stars infinite...our own earthly sod,

Each child at birth, given its own mind, and by its heart, its own faith to find.

All glory to God in the highest and for our given rights to decide in our own beliefs...we are all brothers and sisters upon this earth...

Exactly...most who are so vocal are hiding real issues with their own lives and taking it out on others. Thanks my friend. whonu

What is missing in their own lives? You pose a most important question. Sensitive and touching poetry. Well done, Bro.

Religious beliefs are very personal. I prefer not to discuss them, which is why I don't like people coming to my door telling me theirs and trying to sway me.

Yes, it is everyone's own right to choose what they believe. It really should never riot any judgement. That is God's work to do that. I think we should all just try to understand each other, but not try to change one another. If we could do that we could live in peace. :)
