Butane Hash Oil and Cancer Cells Do They Have A Relationship?

Updated on November 30, 2014

So what is butane hash oil? Hash oil is made from extracting the thc crystals off the marijuana flowers. So what's so special about it? Hash oil can get up to 80% thc as compared to a high 30% with just cannabis. This provides a much cleaner, stronger high along with giving more helpful cannabinoids to the body

Marijuana and Cancer Cells

There have been hundreds of studies done as to whether or not cannabis aids in the fighting of cancer cells. Recent studies have shown that cannabinoids, more specifically CB2, has shown that "high doses slow cancer cells growth". CB2 does this by combining with the receptor GPR55.

Hash oil has a significant more amount of THC and cannabinoids in it as compared to just cannabis allowing for much more of those cannabinoids to be introduced in the body.

Lab studies of THC and cannabinoids

Lab results from the same study have shown that high doses of natural and synthetic cannabinoids can do the following to cancer cells:

  • Trigger cell death, through a mechanism called apoptosis
  • Stopping cells from dividing
  • Preventing new blood vessels from growing into tumours
  • Reducing the chances of cancer cells spreading through the body, by stopping cells from moving or invading neighbouring tissue
  • Speeding up the cell’s internal ‘waste disposal machine’ – a process known as autophagy – which can lead to cell death

How thc can help

So far the most successful results have come from combining a mix of THC and a cannabinoid called CBD. "In experiments with mice, animals given very high doses of purified THC seemed to have a lower risk of developing cancer". Scientist are still unsure whether this will role over to humans also.

It is without a doubt though that cannabis and more specifically butane honey oil, definitely helps ease the symptoms that come with cancer including nausea, no appetite, and just the general ill feeling that comes along with cancer and chemotherapy treatments.

Marijuana can treat cancer?

In conclusion, cannabis will definitely not cure cancer but it will without a doubt be a significant aid on top of chemotherapy or other treatments.

Butane hash oil will help help give you a much higher dose of THC and the cannabinoids that are currently being studied. As mores studies are being done and coming out we are learning of all the ways that cannabis and BHO will help aid in the symptoms and most likely reduce the chances of the cancer spreading and getting worse.
