Red in its Myriad Constructs and Meanings
What is red and its associations? Well, red is the color of passion, love, and......desire. It is totally pow and wow. It pulsates energy. It is the primal life force. It emanates aggressive, verve, and fierceness. It is the basic color of life and........living. It expresses intense feelings and emotions. It is a color of fearlessness and utter intensity. It is very and totally in your face. It says what needs to be said, straight, unadulterated, and no chaser. It is being upfront magnified. Red is not an evasive color, never needs to be nor wants to be.
Red is the color of blood. It is one of the basic and primary colors besides blue and yellow. It is temptation and allure. It loudly beckons and seduces. It is sensuality. It is a color of major impact and bold statement. It symbolizes daring, adventure, and excitement. It is activity-constant and intense activity. It is also pro-activity and engagement. It is high voltage intensity. It is also high trottle intensity and enmeshed involvement.
Red is oftentimes seen as the color of risk. It is taking a dare and going for the gusto. It is being unafraid and facing the challenges of life head on. It always want to be in the thick of occurrences and events. It is certainly never the color of the safe and the sure thing. It always want to test limits whether self-imposed, familial or societal. It believes in testing, often breaking and going beyond the commonly accepted parameters and rules. It is the color of exploration and boldly going where no one has gone before.
Red is the color of courage and valor. It is a color which signifies boldness and guts. It is neither a timid nor meek color. It is definitely not the middle of the road, adhere to conventions, and the play it safe color. It embodies living life at full speed and full throttle. It is heart pumping exhilaration. It is full, unadulterated, and unabashed juiciness. It is plunging into the primal and vital essence of what life is all about. It is vital essence of the primal urgency of life and all that it entails. To say that red is a definite color would be quite an understatement. In fact, it is the quintessential and ultimate, definite color.
Speaking of definiteness, red is that and beyond. It is the color of the purest and most visceral aliveness and emotions. It is a color of negative as well as positive feelings, desires, and emotions. It is anger and hate. It is wanting to demolish a person emotionally and/or psychologically. It is also rage, quite maddening rage. Red symbolizes intense feelings, emotions, and much more. One thing can be said about red- it is never apathetic nor lukewarm in expression. These componenes would be the quite antitheses of red.
Red is exploring one's wilder side and/or nature. It is being utterly untamed and/or impulsive without care. It is also extravagance and excess. It is being utterly unrestrained, unconstrained, and totally tossing caution to the winds. It is fully letting go and having the wildest time imaginable. It is going the complete mile and not stopping until one is totally satiated physically, emotionally, psychologically, even psychically.
Red is associated with the element of hotness. It is physically, emotionally, and psychologically hot. It is sizzling and scorching in every conceivable way. It is the blazing sun on a hot Texas morning. It is an intense mid-afternoon in Seville. It is a scorchingly hot sunset in Guadalajara. It is unabashed carnality and physicality. It is thoroughly embracing and recognizing one's carnal and physical nature. It is unapologetically revelling in the physical senses. It is tasting, seeing, and touching all its aspects. It is being fully and succelently alive in the essence of the physical and the physical world.
Red, the OTHER EXTREME Color
Black and white are not the only colors associated with extremes. Red is also an extreme color. It is the color that brings out the most basic, visceral, and often primal responses in people. It is what one would call it a gut level color. It is vibrant, intense, sassy, gutsy, shameless, vivacious, dashing, and utterly forward and emblazoned. It is a color of upfront defiance. It will alert others to kindly mind and tend to their own affairs and life.
Red is a color that is unafraid to make a statement. In fact, if it does not make a profound and/or noteworthy statement, why even bother. There is no bolder fashion statement than a red dress. When a woman wears a red dress, it signals that she is here to be noticed. It furthermore demonstrates that she is highly confident. Red is oftentimes considered to be another power color. It makes people stand up and take notice. People realize that you know your game and are quite adept at it.
Red is a hot color. It is considered the hottest color in the spectrum. There is definitely no color hotter than red. Red epitomizes hotness in all its essence. It is not a color for the meek and/or other more unobtrusive souls at all. It shouts, not beckons. It is the color which attract others, drawing them into one's sphere. A person must be highly confident to wear red. If he/she is not confident, red will surely overpower them. However, if one does not have the innate bravado to wear red, one can at least act confident. It takes a level of self-assurance to wear red. It is a color that clearly and gladly makes an announcement. It is a make a spectator entrance color. It is also a color that starts and breaks conversation.
Nothing adds as much dash and/or spice than the color red. It revs up anything from a room and recipe to fashion. Red makes anything seem, feel, and/or look new and exciting. Nothing adds more hotness and raw sensuality than red whether in walls or in interior design. A dash of paprika with some hot peppers, or perhaps a little red chili adds life to a stand-by recipe. What are hamburgers and french fries with red catchup? Nothing, it is red catchup which oftentimes brings out the flavor in hamburgers and french fries. Red sauce, especially the spicier kind, makes crab cakes, salmon, chicken, and other meats taste so delectably and utterly delicious. Red adds a level of excitement to and new spin on fashion that is oftentimes unmatched and unparallelled.
Red is also extreme emotionally. It is never in-between nor ambivalent as far as emotions. It is quite out there. When one expresses love, it is truly love of the fierce and passionate kind. It is flowers, sonnets, wild passionate kisses, and intense crescendos. It is no accident that red is the color of Valentine's Day, which is the holiday of love. Red is also one of the Christmas Holiday colors. During Christmas Holiday season, love and other forms of goodwill are expressed as in no other time of the year.
Hate is another extreme emotion symbolized by red. Hate is one of the most extreme emotions there is. It is an emotion which makes one quite unhinged and looking for blood emotionally and psychologically. Rage and anger are also quite intense emotions. When a person sees red, it means that he/she is quite enraged or angry. It is no accident that bullfighters use red capes in order to provoke the the bull, sometimes with quite dangerous or disastrous results. Many bullfighters suffer injuries or worse as a result of provoking the bull.
Red further embodies the extreme regarding having fun. Red is the color of parties-wild parties. Wild parties would be quite the understatement here. It is throw down parties and parties until dawn or at least until the neighbors call the cop to close down the party. Red is also wild and uninhibited fun. The saying to paint the town red means to let go, pulling all the stops, and having the best time ever. It brings to mind the Michael Jackson song, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough.
Red is also represent political extremes. Communism and other extremist leftist beliefs are symbolized by the color red. The color red reflects defiance of, revolution against and liberation from the old order. The red star and flag are used as symbols in communist and socialist countries. To indicated that someone was red meant that he/she was extremely left leaning or was a Communist.
Red is Alluring and Oh So Provocative
Nothing says alluring more than the color red. Red is the most alluring of all colors. It tempts and/or seduces like no other color. It is warmth. It is heat. It is fire. It's on fire. It arouses and excites. It is appreciating, exploring, and delving into one's physicality and carnality. It is the color of pure, unadulterated lust. It is pure want and desire.
Red is a color of endless fascination. It is also interesting. There is never a dull moment regarding this color. It has the ability of holding people captive visually and emotionally. Nothing evokes and stirs the senses, especially the physical senses as much as red does. Red is the siren who walks by, leaving one to believe who, what, and why she is. Red is the scent of sultry jasmin mixed with tangy gardenia on a late afternoon. It is a saunter and a forward glance. It is thoroughly forward and straight, no chaser.
The quintessential symbol of allure is red lips. Red lips are archetypes of allure and seduction. Red lips are routinely used by advertisers to sell things from movies to t-shirts. Besides being the archetype of allure and seduction, red lips are also the archetype of glamor and sophistication. Cosmetic companies make multibillions yearly selling red lipsticks. Red lipstick is considered a fashion stable and necessity by women worldwide. Very few women can do without red lipstick. Nothing adds pizzazz, allure, and glamor to a woman's face than red lipstick.
Red is the color of the provocateur. It is a color which refuses to stand idly by. It is oh so tantalizing and stimulating in addition to being electrifying. It is dangerous and magnetic simultaneously. It is thoroughly arresting, dramatic, and impelling. It is titillating, breathtaking, and scandalous. In fact, red and scandalous are quite synonymous. Red has a reputation that is oftentimes highly saucy.
There is nothing more provocative than a red dress. The red dress is the epitome of provocativeness. It is sexiness, sensuality, and glamor all rolled up in one. It also can be ladylike with a kick or twist. The red dress is never subtle or understated although it may be cut modestly. It is also powerful without being darkly overpowering. It is powerful with approachability. There is always something double entendre and/or naughty about the red dress. It is never something double entendre about the red dress. It is always flirtatious no matter what is said. It has a va-voom aura and presence. Nothing says va-voom louder and with more volume than red.
Red is a color of intensity and extremes. It is never a quiet color. It is outspoken and bold. It is courage and valor. It is in your face and straightforward. It is seduction and temptation. It is fierceness and fearlessness. It is attitude and power. It is glamor and sophistication. It is daring and utterly outrageous. For whatever it is worth, red is a color that will always continue to speak volumes.
