World War 2 Tanks
World War 2 saw much bloodshed and violence but it also saw the innovation of of metal tanks. These tanks saw much action and were deciding factors in the result of the War.
The Sherman tank was the most popular tank of the war and was produced by the American forces. The Sherman was mass produced and although it can be considered a lesser quality than the Axis tanks, Sherman tanks came in massive groups and were extremely effective in taking out enemy infantry.
M10 Tank Destroyer
This tank was used by American forces and was the named the Tank Destroyer due to its large cannon. This tank was very mobile providing it the ability to easily flank enemy tanks and expose their rear armor.
The Ostwind was a German anti aircraft and anti-infantry tank that excelled in mowing down planes and light infantry. It had a rather small cannon making it non effective against other tanks.
The Panzer IV was a versatile tank that could be used for many different purposes. It was usually equipped with iron skirts making it very durable.
The Panther tanks struck fear into the hearts of the enemy and was one of the best engineered tanks of the period. Its cannon was fierce and its durability was unmatched. Panthers were extremely hard to take down.
The Tiger was a massive Wehrmacht tank that was equipped with an 88 mm cannon that could shred through enemy armor. Although not many tiger tanks were produced, the ones produced were extremely effective in battle.
The Cromwell was used by British Forces is Would War 2 and served as an all purpose tank and was extremely reliable.
This tank was an extremely powerful tank with a 17 pounder anti tank gun as the cannon. This made this tank very effective at tanking down enemy vehicles. The range on the cannon was excellent.
