THE MIND AND YOUR HEALTH
Hubbers, in my previous work I talked about how the human mind works. But here let’s try to narrow it down to how you can harmonize the power of thought to create a healthy living. THE MIND: As I said before that, the mind is the seat of consciousness, which cannot be seen or touched physically. It is where we draw our conclusions from the information fed into our mind. Our conclusion determines the attitude that we portrait and our attitude determines how we react to issues either positively or negatively. In this case, the conclusion the mind arrives at determines the state of the physical body which invariably tells how healthy the person would be.
HEALTHINESS: is the state of being healthy, which means, one is free from diseases and sickness both bodily and mental illness.
THE RELATIONSHIP: The body dances to the tune of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. In essence when you fed and pre-occupy your mind with evil thought it begins to tell on the body through the appearance of wrinkles and diseases; but at the state of gladness and beautiful thoughts, the body radiates with more youthfulness and beauty. Remember, “as a man thinks, so he becomes” so if your mind is perpetually thinking of sickness and diseases then you will soon become like that, so always think of what you always think about.
As every circumstance that man finds himself is rooted in his thought so is Disease and health, we can trace their origin to evil thought. Depressed thoughts will soon express themselves through a depressed body. The people who live in fear of disease are the people who get the same. “What I was afraid of has come on me. What I worried about has happened to me.”
CAUSES OF ILL HEALTH: There are various causes of diseases and illnesses. As many as they are ranging from, poverty to poor environmental and personal hygienic, as well as general bad habits that people indulged themselves in. As factual as the above and other causes of illness may seems, lets not forget the root which is thought, “as he thinks, so he becomes. Poverty mind set, poor hygienic life mind set, bad habits that cause damages to oneself is also mind set, we can go on and on. You see people that go into drugs consumption does not start instantaneously no, the mind first of all conceived it, weigh it left, right and center and eventually the main act. So it is in every thing in life. So if the mind is well guided through right information so many things that people involved themselves which later made them miserable would have be averted.
HOW TO HARNESS YOUR MIND FOR HEALTHY LIVING:
1. STRONG PURE AND HAPPY THOUGHTS: Strong pure and happy thoughts build up your body in strength and grace. The physical body responds automatically to the thoughts by which it is fed and the pattern of our thought is what produces the kind of effects on our body either good or bad. You can adopt this suggestion: “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, fix your mind on them.”
2. CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK: Diseases and ill-health will continue to plaque some one life if one doesn’t change the way he thinks. Out of a clean heart come a clean life and a clean body. Out of a defiled mind proceed a defiled life and make the body to be sick. Thought is the fountain of action, life and manifestation; make the fountain pure, and all will be pure. Change diets will a man who will not change his thoughts. When a man makes his thoughts pure, he no longer desires impure food.
3. CLEAN UP YOUR THOUGHT: hygienic habit takes its root from hygienic thoughts. When I talk about hygiene here not only the physical body but also the cleaning up of characters such as malice, envy, disappointment and other vices. When one indulges in those vices you rob the body of its health and grace. Therefore, If you would perfect your body, guard your mind. If you would renew your body, beautify your mind. A sour face does not come by chance; it is made by sour thoughts. Wrinkles that mar are drawn by folly, passion, pride.
A strong body and a bright, happy, or serene countenance can only be achieved through the kind of thoughts you allows into your mind, the thought of peace, joy and goodwill.
There is no medication such as cheerful thought for dissipating the ills of the body; there is no comforter to compare with goodwill for dispersing the shadows of grief and sorrow.
