If there's life on other planets, what would be the consequences for our society?
Absolutely yes. There would be no consequences for our society based on life on other planets because we are responsible for our own society and have to find a way to live in peace and harmony with one another.
For many, there would be humility and a sense of awe. The universe is big and the potential for many sextillion of habitable planets (that's a billion times a trillion). And the idea that we're not alone!
For some of the newly humbled, they may realize that their small interpretation of a holy text was wrong. Those who do not find humility, may lose faith, because the arrogance of knowing truth before it is found will leave them vulnerable in that false knowledge.
For some, there would be increased greed. Goody! New worlds to conquer.
Perhaps the most noble change would be a gathering of resources to investigate more closely that other life. Now, that I like.
If we find a previously unknown butterfly in, say, the wilds of Borneo, does it change our society, no, well, not if we can't exploit it. That is no different to finding life on another planet. Now, if life from another planet finds us, that may have consequences, some of which, we may not want to think about.

If you could take someone's life and it have no consequences, would you?Just one life, and there are no consequences. That person just ceases to exist, and life goes on as per usual. Would you?

Why is beauty so important to society? It seems as the, the "more" beautiful a woman is, the further she can get in life, just on her looks alone. Looks have become so important to young girls and women in general that 16 year old girls are having plastic surgery, and really beautiful...

Many get angry and hostile and the Christian premise that there is only one God.. Why? Christianity shares the promise of enternal life in heaven to all who choose Jesus. Why is that not appealing? Why are some so angry about Christianity?
