László József Bíró (Hungarian: Bíró László József; Spanish: Ladislao José Biro) (September 29, 1899 – November 24, 1985) was the inventor of the modern ballpoint pen.
Bíró (Hungarian pronunciation: [?bi?ro?]) was born in Budapest,Hungary in 1899. He presented the first production of the ball pen at the Budapest International Fair in 1931.
