Dinosaur Extinction?
We hear that scientists believe that birds may be descended from dinosaurs - but if the dinosaurs were made extinct 65 million years ago how is it possible?
The belief of the complete extinction of dinosaurs, has been retested against the strides in scientific discovery.
Dinosaurs have been unearthed, a mammoth caught in a flash-ice age.
The Theory formed by the earlier scientific communities were that during the Geologic Age this rapid ice age occurred, a sweeping extinction would have happened across the board.
What has been discovered, by using the scientific method of asking questions, testing, finding an answer; right or wrong. Adjusting the theory in accordance with new discoveries and findings.
The bird actually has scales that dry up and must be preened off. The leg structure and stance of a bird is very close to the dino. The genus of the family is similar to the Pterodactyl. They evolved, and sprouted feathers to be able to survive a new habitat when Earth changed..

Many thanks Lilly for your response.
F-hurtz - If you can't take the time to read a question properly and then answer civily - please don't bother, especially with my questions. Pull your neck in and learn some manners!
Birds are descended from dinosaurs - it 's a fact - they've even found small dinosaur fossils with feathers and small wings. These couldn't have flown but they might have been good swimmers - like penguins.
A lot of the smaller, burrowing and aquatic animals: including the early mammals from which we are descended, survived the Cretaceous/Tertiary Event that wiped out the larger dinosaurs.
There wasnt a total extinction. A lot of species survived, smaller ones. Like roaches. Mainly the larger species were the ones that died out.
Not all the dinosaurs died out. Only the smallest and most adaptable species made it. Furthermore, there were already quite a few species of primitive birds living at the time of the dinosaurs. Birds and bird-like dinosaurs were just better adapted to surviving those catastrophic events that more specialized dinosaurs couldn't cope with.

Undiscovered dinosaurs? How probable is it that one or more species of dinsoaur may have survived the asteroid 65 million years ago and be present today - for example in our oceans or very remote areas?

Have there been any modern dinosaur sightings in America?I recently read an article about people claiming to have seen dinosaurs in different parts of the world. I noticed though that there were no sightings in America.
