   Why do people consider it a miracle when 1 out of 250 people survive a plane crash?
   
   I am a person that believes in God's existence, prays and goes to church once in a while.
   With that being said, I would never call 1 person surviving a plane crash a miracle. That is just plain luck! If all 250 passengers and crew members survive a plane crash, well, that is a miracle to me.

   I agree with you. I think it's luck as well. I figure the reason that people say it's a miracle are because of the odds. A plane crash is such a horrible thing that there's rarely any survivors expected at all

   what you say makes sense. something i WOULD call a miracle would be....when GOD caused me to breathe water so i would not drown...twice in one day. i have talked to many non believers who give me scientific reasons for the many things GOD has done in my life...but that one always stumps them.

   If the person was praying, that would certainly stand out to me. Confined to a plane or not... falling from the sky and living is an amazing event. Several years ago, a skydiver hit the ground, and lived. He said he had been praying all the way.
   A few years ago, I was praying for some unknown thing... then suddenly just left the prayer group. I got on my usual back country road home... and saw an accident: two young men tried to pass before a canal, failed to see an oncoming car, swerved off the road, hit the canal railing... Their car launched into the air, and performed a complete 360 & landed on the tires in the canal. The railing had pierced their car just behind the seats. A split-second difference, and they would be dead.
   
   I ran into the canal from my side, an off-duty cop came from the other side. He was asking them, "Are you drunk?" They were completely unharmed, and laughing! I looked at them, ignored the cop, and said, "You two are Christians, aren't you?" They were, and were on their way home from a church event.
   
   The 4x6 wood beam would have easily cut them in half. THAT WAS A MIRACLE, affected by prayer.
