This expensive software promises proficiency in any foreign language. I have never met anyone who actually learned a foreign language by using the Rosetta Stone. What do you think?

I got into Spanish with Roseta Stone. Quite good but I didn't think that starting by learning how to say the 'car is red' or 'the boy is running' gave me much to use in every day situations.
I'd rather know how to order a table in a restaurant and ask for food, etc. I suppose you must learn to walk before you can run...
