ALONE, a million times, ALONE!
I worked as a secretary all my life. Three women in an office. Lethal recipe for disaster.
If I had my life to live over NEVER, EVER would I be a secretary. I only went to college because my grandfather made me, so I just signed up for secretarial.
The ONE good thing about it is that I learned to type plus I took shorthand 3 years in high school and 2 in college (now no longer used...it is a lost art). This has been a great advantage to my writing passion.
Now that I'm not working I cherish my solitude more than anything! LOVE the Picasso quote above, so very true.
It is hard for people to work together 40 hours a week. You see them more than you do your family. Also, if there is a relationship problem with an employee, it makes it very difficult to go into work and tolerate a negative environment.
For some reason it seems to me, talking with so many over the years about their jobs, that there is one "rotten" apple in the barrel. One trouble maker in a work environment. If a person works alone, it keeps he/she away from that brouhaha to a point.
Anyone who works with people and they are a "family" - they are fortunate indeed.
Blessings, Sparklea :)
