Help with choosing the right online degree
Hi all! I am planning to take up my online degree mid of this year and I have no idea which I should choose. I love IT a lot and thus, I need to choose between computer science and information technology. Between this two, which is better in your opinion? I am studying online (allow me to emphasize) and working at same time.
Please give me your advise on this.
Thanks!
Aha! I have written a lot on this topic. I recently finished a bachelor's of international business from Ashford University. I wrote several pieces on online degrees. Here are the three I think you will benefit from:

http://manfrommodesto.hubpages.com/hub/ … ul-Degrees
http://manfrommodesto.hubpages.com/hub/ … nal-Degree
General points: There is a lot of ignorant bias against online degree holders.
On average, online degree holders end up earning MORE than campus degree holders (more mature, experienced, rigorous graduates).
If you are a hiring manager, actively seeking online degree holders is a win for your company- because many companies overlook these, and there are gems out there for the picking.
If you are a job seeker, it is better to get a campus degree- because many companies overlook online degrees.
Best to get a professional degree or technical skills: business, accounting, nursing, etc. Avoid junk degrees like philosophy and liberal arts.
I teach online and take courses online. Liberal Arts is not a "junk degree" and I resent the implications. Liberal arts is the foundation of a solid well rounded education and more people should be open and receptive to learning the foundations of life before embarking upon mere working on degrees that offer mere technical skills.
Have you taken a look at the course content of both the programs? Study them in detail, so you'll have a better idea of which one better supports your career and personal goals. I've heard that Stevens-Henager has some career-focused IT programs that can be pursued online, and which can be completed in as little as 30 months. Make a complete assessment of the college, read reviews and testimonial so you get a better perspective of the college. For example, if you search the Internet for Stevens-Henager College complaints, you'll see the college has resolved all complaints registered against it, which shows that it's concerned for its students. It's better to call or visit the college of your choice before you apply to it.
