How do I preserve bugs? Or moths? With moths, I call for my husband. He shoo's them out of the house. But for Bugs in general, other than moths and butterflies, I yell for my husband. He kills them quickly and mercifully (mercilessly) -- then the household gets to go back to sleep if it's night time or just carry on if it's daytime and then I preserve the memory in a category of my mind entitled, "Things I want to forget." This is especially true if it's spiders, cockroaches, centipedes, scorpions or preying mantis. But I do wish you the best in preserving your Hummingbird Moth. I think it's wonderful when women have a healthy attitude toward insects.
I've tweeted your question.
