No. I didn't go to college right after high school. I waited until I knew I what I wanted to go for. At the time I went it was a technical college, so that I could shift from being a teacher's assistant to a lead teacher in the preschool where I worked. It was a 9 month course of 34 credits. LOTS of homework & self study. I went 1 day a week & 1 weekend a month.
Anyway, at the time I was in my mid-twenties, pregnant with my third child, working full time, taking care of the house, the kids, and getting all of my homework done to the best of my ability.
So it wasn't what people would generally think of when they think "college life". No partying, no getting wild and crazy, no feeling of finally getting out on my own or any of that business. I pretty much already knew who I was, what I wanted, and where I was going. I already had a locked position at my current job waiting for me as soon as I finished my courses.
I will say that with everything I had going on I was still able to graduate with honors on the dean's list, which I am quite proud of because I wasn't the best student in high school. I thing I graduated there with a GPA of 2.2 or something of the sort.
