What building do you think is the most beautiful in the world?
Many countries and cultures have claimed to be the site of the "most beautiful building" What do you think? What are your reasons?
If I am going to examine the whole world's buildings, I would only choose at the end my own house !
Very clever answer! Couldn't you try to define a more well known building? There is no need to find the perfect answer! Unless you're saying that your home is your castle, is that what you meant? In that case, could we see a photo so we can admire?
Thank you, in fact I know a lot of buildings and and visited some of them .You are right our homes are our castle and this what I meant. For me when I admire a photo of a building I always wish it belongs to my country .
My first instinct was to answer the Taj Mahal, but on further reflection, I find I prefer more humble buildings. So, my official answer isn't a particular building, but would be the farmhouses of the Cotswolds.
Great answer! Shows that beauty is not just something great and majestic like the Taj, maybe it's in the eyes and heart of the beholder?
I have only been to parts of the US so my world is limited in voting on the most beautiful building. I loved the Biltmore Castle in Ashville, NC. but also think Cesar's Palace in Vegas is beautifully structured inside. I like Mahmo's answer as well -- our homes are places of beauty.
Prague's castle, I love Prague and all those historical buildings, that have been so painstakenly restored. It is my homeland and it is 'the dream landscape on my childhood'. There is nothing more romantic than riding a horse through a white snow under a stary sky towards a beautifully restored fairytale castle, where our wedding took place:)
What a beautiful answer! Congrats! Did you write a Hub about Prague and the beautiful buildings? I don't really remember, but I want to read about this! I do agree, but I have only seen photos. Have a good day and thanks for the answer!
The European castles are really beautiful. I haven't seen the one in Prague.
The Taj Mahal. It is a mausoleum, made of white marble, located in Agra, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For more details, please refer Wikipedia.
There is another building in India, made of marble, in the shape of a lotus flower. For more details, please refer my hub, "Lotus parnasala".
Yes, the Taj Mahal is so famous! It attracts the eye due to the beautiful white color and the symmetry, everything is symmetric, and we humans love symmetry in physical objects!
I’m and Architect and have many favorites so it's hard for me to choose but I'm going with Falling Water - took a trip there once (more like a pilgrimage) and was not disappointed.
Hi, thank you for your answer. Could you give us some details? Or better still write a Hub about it? I'm not familiar with this term, but it sounds interesting! Have a good day!
Joanveronica, a follow-up . . .
Falling Water is a Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in Bear Run, Pennsylvania - sits over a small waterfall. Definitely one of his best . . . I may write about it but until then, you can google it.
