If you can live in an era, which one will you choose, and why?
Medieval, Post modern era (now), Age of Enlightenment?
The future technocratic age where people earn time instead of money. Where my glasses will double as a computer screen and my thoughts are transferred via Bluetooth. A time where you could choose the attributes and characteristics of your children which will grow in a lab. I would enjoy being driven around by my computer controlled car while having a conversation with the computer.
In other words, you wish to both control and be controlled. Produce future human beings in the same manner as bacteria cultures and hand over your destiny to a computer. This is frightening. How many other people feel this way about human existence?
I prefer to be where I am now. I can always study the past.
It is extremely difficult to answer a question of this kind. We take everything we have for granted and many of these things were not available in past eras. People who were born in the twentieth century have had the benefits of advanced medicine. schooling to university standard and the security of jobs. Although all these things were (and still are) not available to everyone, they have enhanced thousands of lives and opened up a wealth of knowledge to millions of human beings. Every era has its advantages and disadvantages, but in our day and age opportunities to enhance our knowledge and standard of living and also help others to do the same thing, have never been easier.
I would like a window of opportunity to experience a day in the life of a medieval woman, or experience the daily work of a housewife in the nineteenth century, but life in the here and now is what I have and I like it.

When we look at nature in order to see what type of species man closest resembles in the animal kingdom we will see quickly what we do not resemble as a species. We do not act as mammals, we do not even resemble the reptiles. In all reality, we truly resemble those creepy little bugs who fly blind...

How does free will explain or justify the existence of evil? Many Christians have told me that evil is a necessary byproduct of having free will. This doesn't seem to be true to me, given the following thoughts:1. If free will exists in heaven, and evil does not, it is possible to have free...
