Unfortunately, if it were simple, it wouldn't be called the 'god particle'! :)
The Higgs boson particle is an elementary particle, meaning that it is irreducible. Because of this irreducibility (i.e. it can't be broken down into smaller parts), it gets termed in the media as the 'god particle'.
However, scientists don't generally like this term because it's horribly unscientific. The whole 'god particle' things is really just media sensationalism.
