Is there anything unethical about restricting members of society, such as the handicapped certain criminals, from breeding in our society?

Asking a question is morally reprehensible to you? What is it like to live in the dark?
I think he' reading Twilight books. Where the male turns into a wolf.
I agree read a real book. Maybe oh heck I don't know.
Maybe one on how to crawl out of the rock you are living under.
@Peeps and Andrew. The mere fact that someone would entertain the notion of "restricting" others from "breeding" is inhumane. No one, absolutely has a right to determine who should reproduce. Notice, I said reproduce because only animals breed.
Say what you want but I know a man who has sexually abused 5 girls and people like that should have NO rights in my opinion. I'd say it's inhumane to allow someone like that to have a child he could then abuse.
@Peeps yes. I agree lock him up and treat the cause of his crime or mental illness. But no one has the right to use genocide as means to control people. This world and especially America is the way it is because Europeans are oppossed with playin God
A farmer does not plant his seed in whatever field he comes to. He plants the seed only in the field that will most successfully do the job. He then takes other fields and whips them into shape to become the host to bring forth the best of the best.
I can obviously tell there is a point to what you said andrew but I'm having a hard time understanding it. Could you say it in a different way?
I agree. I guess we Are going back in time.
What are teens thinking these days.
I agree some genetic illnesses are passed on through parents. Unfortunately some parents don't even know they carry a defect until the baby is born and they do die soon.
Over here in the UK, when the cow Thatcher was elected, a couple of tories were reputed to have said that people from socio-econimic clas 6/7 should only be allowed to breed when industry requires it, that is unacceptable policy.
How did you arrive at racism? Furthermore all racist ideology stems from the failure to acknowledge Mankind as one race.
@Andrew I didn't arrive at racism you did. Racism didn't stem from racist ideology because ideas must be acted on. Racism is the result of the actions of men who believe they are superior and have a right to control others.
Hello I'm handicapped. That's an insult. Those people.
And we aren't criminals. You need to broaden your horizons,
There's nothing wrong with me. If I could have had children they would have been beautiful. Grow up!
So I just checked out your Hub profile and I get it (duh). I was hoping a Hubber with an attitude like that couldn't have such a high score, lol
I meant handicapped or criminals. Forgive the typo, but hubpages will not allow me to edit my own question. Also, I do not believe that lor's stories can have children, even if he is able to.
I mean handicapped criminals in a sense of violent offenders with mental difficulties. There is a prison of them about 45 minutes from my house. I don't mean just any handicapped person. Learn to analyze a comment. You would never survive bullying.
Honey I did survive the worst kind of bullying. And I'm way older than you.
I believe you mean the Criminally Insane.
Shall I write how I was bullied as an 8 year old?
It wasn't pretty,
But I'm here.
I can't have children. I wish I could,
There is another name for them but I cannot think of it. Then we are from the same boat.
There is genetic illness among the population- death. Until death has been conquered we should intelligently breed and design the next generation. Of course I am able to list other genetic disorders, as well as cancers, but why? Death is disease.
Death is a part of life. It's a cycle.
I wonder what are they teaching kids
Death is not a disease.
Forgive what may sound like sarcasm, but what planet are you from? Intelligently breed and design the next generation? I do not believe death is disease, I believe death is by the design of a power far greater than you or I can truly imagine. Peace
This question is really freaky
It is only freaky because your way of perception is oriented differently. For example, what is freaky about asking this question? Can you think of anything at all?
What is so wrong if society decides to engineer the species to become more fit?
I don't understand. I really don't. There are some people with genetic diseases that will pass the disease on. They need counseling but if you can have children and are able to care for them a child is a blessing.
With you 100%, sweetie. :)
Does anyone else see the harm in allowing humans to randomly breed? There are 8 billion souls walking the planet right now and there really is no true sign that the growth rate is going to stabilize. We should be evolving.
*Natural* selection, yes. But genome engineering via "quality human speciman commitee" is just grotesque.
Is it so unnatural? After all, wolves do it through selecting alpha males. And they are only one example. Why can't we decide who procreates and who does not?
Again Andrew, who is going to make the decisions? I think you may be an extra-terrestrial science project gone bad. Gonna pray for you.
Why condemn a soul to live in a vessel that is flawed? The greater sin is allowing people to breed in a laissez-faire manner. The amount of people with genetic disorders and gene related problems is too high. Nothing is wrong with seeking perfection.
The question itself is very revealing. "Breeding" is used in a subconsciously derogatory way here. A neutral questioner would have used "procreate". Are those not perfect to be regarded as dogs?
