Should all middle names be said along with their first name counterpart or is it just certain names that have that privilege? For example if your name is Jessie James Conley is it automatic that you go by Jessie James because it's a famous name or just Jessie? Or how about Billy Joe? Do you just go by Billy or should the Joe be included? Is it just perhaps based on what your family called you as you were growing up?

My grandmother was the only one that would always call my middle name but it was out of endearment. I forget I have it sometime since I don't use it or write it much.
I always remember at work if I had to write down a patient's name I would only write down their first name even it was a Mary Joe or a Bobby Lee. Unless it was all in one like Maryjoe or Kathyann.
