How to cope with our subconscious?


Not only S. Freud but many other psychologists and psychotherapists say that we subconsciously “attract” unwanted situations in our life (primarily if we have experienced some trauma in childhood). Is it possible that our subconscious “work against us”? Are techniques like focusing and deep breathing helpful?
