Groups of three, five, or seven related in steps from A toward Z. Then learn those from Z to A. Connect a verse from the initial 3, 5, or 7 onto another string. You wind up creating a web or a net. Kinda' like following your neuronet pattern. Why not do what is natural? Just a personal method with no science to back it up.
Personal experience learning and using Excel that method was facilitated to learn as much of that 4 or 5 inch book as needed. Most diagnostic flow charts are designed for ease of memory. They are built usually on a scheme of two, three, five, and sometimes seven.
The challenge is memorizing for specifics. Do you have a leader verse for a particular and that particular only? Do the options for discussion purposes come off a base set of verses for subjects or particulars? Then we are back to basics or a foundation set of two or more verses to lead the thought process along the developed net.
It does get confusing when that net gets intricate with interconnecting verses or even a diagnostic flow chart for that matter. One reason a diagnostician do confirming test. Those lead onto a confirmed flow or a known is now determined seeking answers or change to occur. The others may be discarded at that point since a known is now a known and is accepted and acknowledged as a known.
Break a scripture into small phrases and learn a section at a time. Blessings.
Put a melody to the words - sounds strange but it works. Before the advent of writing, we passed on knowledge through song, because the combination really hard wires words into the brain...
We've made silly songs of the things the children used to do, and we still remember them perfectly - so we get the info right there!
Good luck.
Memorizing scriptures becomes very easy when you enjoy every bit of it, when you try to absorb the essence of it with full devotion and concentration. When words of scriptures strike your mind, heart and soul, then it is very easy to keep them intact in the storehouse of your mind forever. In nutshell, this is the secret, Swope, dear.
The same way that you memorize anything else that you really want to remember. Just think how you do that and do it with the scripture too.
i don't know how much this will help you but see for yourself. http://prajwalpokharel.hubpages.com/hub … uch-Effort
Read the passage you want to memorize 7 times then write it three times and commit it to your memory. Do that for the next 24 hours you should not for get it after. Do what the passage says if it is to be practical you should see results accordingly as that word becomes a part of you.
Start with a short verse and write it down. Locate verses that symbolize what is going on in your life now and keep them simple.
Hi Swope;
Begin with the passages which are personal to YOU, not necessarily the "most well known" or the passages you feel you "should" know. Often in scripture study we allow peer pressure and personal guilt to influence what we strive to memorize and/or study. None of that matter as much as what is successful.
Success, in we humans, results solely from focusing on those things which interest us the most. Therefore, using logical breakdown, begin by identifying passages or phrases that are personal to you alone, not what the pastor or the congregation says. I have sometimes found little interest in scripture passages upon which my fellow brethren collectively opt to lay their focus; and it goes in one ear and out the other. However, when I find those personal sections that speak to me personally, or which are specific to a certain condition, or situation or outlook, I retain much more.
In making things important to me, I find that it will ultimately be important to others. But don't take my word for it though... That's Philippians 2:3-4. Good thing I thought of that in scripture, yes?.... ;-)
[Insert smirk here.]
Visualize the atheist you want to get with it, that will help.

I asked the question but yet, have my own answer. I am just curious as to what anyone else might think as well. From my perspective, I find it rather funny that even on a website directed mostly at adults that we find such a great deal of immature attitudes reflective of hatred towards us as...
