In India, respecting teachers is an expected quality from students, irrespective of whether a teacher deserves it or whether students really give it to unworthy teachers. But good teachers are always remembered and respected lifelong. How about western countries? Are teachers respectable figures? Do students expect teachers to be behave dignified both inside the class and also outside? Are there any unwritten codes of behavior expected of the teachers? If a young teacher is seen in kissing boy friend in a public place, will the students take it lightly ("it's her personal matter")?
